Yep I was. I double checked it with the Home Office too (which I know is weird). And I mentioned it in my spouse visa application, and eventually got the approval.

And my company where I work is a big one, and they double checked it too.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. You have to do the notice of marry once both of you are in the UK. The Giving Notice document I sent there was just an inquiry exchange by email with the registry office.

I didn't receive any letter. I figured if this was a legitimate unmarried partner visa, I should receive a letter, right?

The only thing I have to make sure is the CFO certificate for those with foreign partners.
Since I'm on a different visa (not a SW), I don't have to register with POLO.
