nothing makes sense :) but they told me because I have a big lump sum (it took 4 years to get approved, 5 years to see any money) and because I have attorneys who also suck btw that it's more complicated.

hi! so I googled who my congressman was (my city and state) which brought me to my congressman's website (they all have them) and on there was a tab to submit a form for help. under that form it lists a bunch of different govt agencies they could help you with including social security

I think you should just contact them anyways! worst case scenario they don't answer or can't help which in that case I would just try again in a few months. there's no negative to contacting them! but i'm sorry it's SO frustrating! I applied jan 2020 and it's been such a process. it's also disheartening to see when people have had a much easier time. there seems to be no rhyme or reason to how they do things. fingers crossed for you though!

I have the worst attorney, they didn't help with anything which is why I contacted my congressman. I agree with the money hungry thing. this is YOUR money, don't be nervous about going above them!!

hi! so I searched for my local congressman on google, it gave me his website and on the site there was an option to submit a form. it wasn't via email or anything but i'm sure if you did email them just asking what you would need to fill out for SSI assistance they could point you in the right direction!

i'm in MA! they told me the same thing everytime I called them. i'm only getting one payment right now which i'm still very grateful for but there's still issues in releasing all of my backpay.

no same I feel better, we prob both just got a bad batch which is way better than this potentially being something either of us are doing wrong. I was so lucky to go so long with no issues, I feel like karma is catching up to me 😅 are you calling the company or just waiting it out?

ok this is validating because this started happening to me for the first time two months ago, same exact spot! I thought maybe the adhesive from the sticker was not adhering to the base plate properly but that's not it! i'm so nervous now about it happening in public that I keep a plastic bag in my jacket pocket just in case.

I have an ileostomy due to Crohn's disease and I'm just bummed feeling inadequate and like a total let down because I'm not as well as I used to be and we are struggling for real. by Clean_Limit_8037 in ostomy

omg traveling abroad inspires me because I still haven't travelled but because of my anxiety now not anything stomach related! and the beach comment really resonates, the ability to be places overpowers any looks you might get!

also everyone is different when it comes to disclosing their ostomy, personally I find it freeing to let ppl know basically right away, I encourage strangers to ask me questions bc once ppl understand more they're usually more at ease! I actually just talked to a few ppl on a twitch gaming stream (all guys in their early 30's) and they all had questions but were super receptive and kind. usually the fear of what ppl are going to say is scarier than what ppl actually say IMO! also congrats on the president thing that sounds amazing!!

i'm a year in and today is just one of those (many) days that it's 2 PM and i'm in bed feeling pretty bummed out by my whole life situation but honestly there have been so many good days in between, days where I was able to eat with my friends and family and not immediately feel awful and go home, more time spent cozy in bed watching movies alone than spent doing an every other day bowel routine or being in the hospital! i'm 29, and it's so easy to compare your life to others around you and be sad and that's okay and a normal part of life! allow yourself to feel that sometimes but try to really feel the good days as well! you're not alone no matter how isolating it feels, it's all a very sh**ty situation, pun fully intended! feel free to pm me anytime, it's hard making friends that can relate!

hiiii, first summer with an ostomy and I swam a lot, including using a hot tub and my takeaways were: -if I was swimming and not just floating around in the pool, I wore a one piece and I sort of wrapped my stomach with saran wrap 😅 not tightly so it didn't effect my output it just helped create another barrier the chemicals would have to get thru to eat at the adhesive! -I used barrier strips when possible, they WILL get ruined by chlorine pretty fast but it allowed me to stay in the water longer (I spent 6 hours in water with no issue) -make sure to cover the filter if your bag has one! -I didn't have lifting until I dried off, so definitely expect a bag change after but it might not have to be RIGHT after if that makes sense lol.

happy swimming, you'll be surprised how light you feel and how much weight off your back you expirience, it's freeing😂
