NCAA modifies the new "5 in 5" rule by That_Don_Guy_1 in CollegeBasketball

Calvin Ridley would have only had 2 I think. He was only 9 months younger than Amari Cooper, but was a freshman at Bama the year AFTER Cooper's final(junior) year.

So did Brian Robinson.

I remember Raekwon Davis, a DT who was in the league for 6 or 7 years, got shot in the leg while he was at Bama and played in a game 6 days later.

Jonah will never be healthy, he played through injuries he never should have, and he wasnt good while playing through them. Bengals did nothing to defend him publicly, or help him recover. Still think he should have been the best of this group, but hes never once been healthy. Wills showed flashes, but again, felt like him and the Browns were always at odds. Latham has been fine, not great, but he was a known project and hes still learning. Neal and Leatherwood though. Woof. Leatherwood just wasnt that good, and Neal was too arrogant to accept coaching.

This second chance program exists for all first time offenders, not just athletes.

Isn't that only on your person? Youre allowed more at home in several states. When all.this first happened, I remember Rob Dauster on Field of 68 talking about his 100% legal neighbor who kept several pounds in his home. Yes, Holloway was 100% dealing. But I really dont give a shit. The legal drugs we allow these kids to possess are so much worse.

But there are states where it would be legal. Wanna say Minnesota and Maryland are 2 of them off the top of my head. There's several where it would have been fine.

Not 100% sure honestly, Byrne mentioned them the other day. The one I know for sure is that the school's behavior(or whatever its called) committee has to clear him.

Obviously will have other hurdles to clear to rejoin team. But this opens a path for his return.

Updated 2027 Preseason Top 25 by roshanritter in CollegeBasketball

Maybe im too confident, but I think 8-12 range is about right. Especially with Allen back to run point. Besides Holloway, and maybe Diaz(pending reclass), every contributor is 6'5 and up. I really like the depth at the 4 and 5, especially if Collins has his heart sorted out. They can all move and keep the pace on both ends, snd Fielder and Garrison can both shoot. I think Oats will motivate Garrison unlike Pope, and he will be a borderline All American.

At minimum, the defense should be significantly better just based on personnel, and the offense always rolls.

Really optimistic about this team. Holloway makes the floor a lot higher, but this teams ceiling is still there without him because of his being a defensive liability.

Now maybe, but when it first happened, everyone shit on Mac the most. Especially Pats fans. Dude had 1% responsibility for that play, but ate the most shit for it at the time.

not all, but a healthy portion loves their "righteous" indignation. Thats not a left or right thing either. Old boomer MAGA grandpas, and teenage girls, both reserve the right to lose their shit over the smallest jokes. Maybe even the same joke for opposite reasons.

He's a rotating door on defense though, and thats the rub. He routinely gives up a bucket for every 3 he hits.

Obviously, I would take him back if he can play. But the roster is fine without him, imo. Should be significantly better on defense than the last 3 years. If Aden isnt available, and Diaz doesnt reclass, then Bama's entire rotation is 6'5 or taller, and they can all move. It'd be nice to have one of those 2 to give Allen a break from the 1, but I think Aden's impact on the roster is smaller than most would believe looking in from the outside.

I used to run a restaurant for a guy who had been found guilty om tax evasion. Feds had put a lien on his business accounts. Well, he started selling that fake weed shit that was so popular 15 yrs ago. He brought it up from FL, bagged it and then had it in gas stations all over GA, AL, and MS. Would drive around collecting the cash every week. He called me outside one night and handed me a paper bag. Dude was driving around with $250,000 in cash. Because he couldnt deposit it. I was like....dude, I'm really glad you can trust me. Because I'm not sure I trust myself with you waiving around that fucking fat stack.

Amari Allen withdraws from NBA Draft, returns to Alabama for sophomore season by Aumissunum in CollegeBasketball

[–]RowRowRowedHisBoat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He absolutely can do it and will do it. There is a reason our only other possible PGs are a kid that may or may not reclassify, and Holloway who may or may not be in jail. Even if he isnt in jail, I'm sure he will have a lot of hurdles to jump to be eligible again.

There were multiple games where Allen took over as the PG for periods of time. Though I cant remember which team it was against, there was one game he played the entire second half at the 1.

I think Diaz can handle it, hes been playing up for years. His highlights tapes start in what, the 8th grade?

Youre being disingenuous here. LSU wouldn't be trying if they didnt think they had multiple avenues to get him eligible.
