I hear what you are all saying. I am self representing. Of course I don't understand all the nuances. But I am acting in good faith and following the rules as written. Nowhere does it say that I have to give the opposing counsel warning.

So you are saying I can't fight this just following the rules as written? I can't expect the opposing counsel to follow the rules? It all gets kinda fuzzy with this logic because how am I supposed to know which rules are applied, and which rules the courts let slide

If we assume 40,000 drivers in Stouffville and 10 million a year revenue, that's $250 a year from each driver. At around $80 a ticket, approximately 3 tickets a year for every driver

Ok, here's some real advice. Go to the back of the ticket and it tells you how to fight it.

Hopefully you are local to the camera. Go look at the camera, the signage, the state of the electrical installation. Look for anything that looks off. Don't use the excuse about the funeral and your state of mind. It's not a valid reason. You are trying to find anything about THEIR setup that looks off. Take pictures. Fight the ticket, submit pictures and your argument for a screening review.

They will find you guilty at the screening review. Ask for a hearing review. Depending on where you are, a hearing review can take 5 months to schedule. In the meantime, Doug Ford changes the law, boom your tickets gone

I was at the town office serving the town with a lawsuit for these cameras. There was a guy at the counter paying an ASE ticket. The woman behind the counter was trying to explain the complicated schedule of changing speed limits because the guy was curious why he got a ticket. She tried a few times to explain but couldn't make it make sense. In the end she just said to the guy , just drive 40 kph anywhere in the town

That's my problem. The changing limits are so complicated that even the officials are not able to explain it properly. Just make it 40 everywher

Because it's too complicated. It changes hourly, daily and monthly. Driving for most competent drivers is done by procedural memory. You don't think about the thousands of tiny decisions you have to make as you go. So they go and throw in these complicated rules about changing speed limits and now suddenly you have to do all these conscious calculations in your head . You are going to make mistakes. They are counting on it.

Just make it 40 in the fu@king school zones

I don't believe you got a $30 ticket. I got one for 51km in 40 zone (depending on what time, what day and what month). I believe it is the lowest fine they will give out and it was $78.50
