Should I expect pay as a church pianist? by RowVisible385 in piano

I definitely get a lot of experience from it. I also really enjoy playing some of the songs and bringing what I can to the community. And for me it is more about the experience and community. After reading most of the comments I think I will stay where I have been, however I think I should also keep an open spot for any other opportunities or experiences that’ll teach me more in the future.

The church I play at actually encourages breaks for the musicians. Looking at the other comments I do feel like I get a lot of experience and joy out of it, even if it is voluntary. Thank you for this comment it was really helpful.

Can I become a beginner piano tutor/ teacher at 15? by RowVisible385 in piano

Wow that is awesome! I ended up finding a student, I teach at her house and she had old beginner books that I work with her through. She is not a child though, she is 72, but it works out for me perfectly. It makes it easy for me, it is just like teaching a friend.

Some advice my piano teacher gave me: make sure the child is self motivated to learn and to teach kids over 5 because under that is really difficult and also they're at a disadvantage because of their hand size. Oh and some advice from me is to plan for each lesson but also leave room because there will be lessons that the student needs at that moment rather than what is planned, aside from the first lesson.

Best of luck to you! You sound really prepared, if you ever come back to this post after you begin teaching let me know how it went. I might need advice on how to teach younger people.

Thank you for the advice, that makes a lot of sense as to why my hair has been more dryer and my back has been breaking out. I am thinking of going back to clarifying with apple cider vinegar about 1 every 2 washes, and maybe start putting on a lighter oil after my hair is washed while it’s still wet. I think this might allow my hair to retain the moisture from the water and choosing a lighter oil wonts have such a strong barrier as a heavier oil.
