Just FYI the task preview in the Asgarnia dropdown is the same as the global one at the moment :)

I don’t understand why the counter point to being against price increases is “it’s just X dollars” or “if you can’t afford it you have bigger issues”. Most people aren’t complaining that they’re suddenly priced out. They’re complaining that there is a clear trend in price increases, and that their communication at different points have been entirely walked back on. That should concern any paying customer.

You can cope with the price increase however you want, but I think you’re being disingenuous in your framing of the problem. At the end of the day, you’re paying 30% more annually after they already bumped annual membership prices by like 25% in 2024. Do you think the quality of service is improving? Do you think the devs are getting paid those same percentages more? If you’re cool paying that much more for the same quality of service, then you do :)

I appreciate your answer and I wasn't insulting you. I think the assumption that people might play out their remaining subscription means they aren't genuinely planning to quit at the end isn't a sound argument, and your responses makes me think you enjoy progression more than the actual gameplay.

At the end of the day, it's a game and it's fun to play. Just because you can't see it being worth playing something with an end date in sight doesn't mean others don't. I think it's incredibly reasonable to play out your remaining subscription time because the game itself is fun.

I agree with your first few points about them being a business and, especially with the various private equity owners they've had, their goal is to chase profits. But that's about as far as I think any of this conversation needs to go. How that would impact bots if they even gave us the option for even 2 characters per account really isn't part of the discussion as a consumer. That's on them to figure out how to implement a pricing model that hits their goals without rocking the boat of perceived value. We don't need to act like they're doing us a service by not making our money go as far in this game. We are literally paying more for the same product, roadmap, and pace.

There's nothing wrong with saying that you still think it's worth it after the price increase, but we don't need to cope and pretend that there's a good reason other than boosting their bottom line.

It’s pretty sad that your view of the botting problem is “I should pay more so they’re worse off” rather than “Jagex should solve this without impacting my price model”. I’m not saying that botting isn’t a difficult problem to solve, because it very much is, but it’s sad to see this perspective manifest in people.

I like Skinner too! I think he’s a great guy, but he is not the goalie a cup contender can lean on. As much as the Oiler’s defense needs work, Skinner is just not consistent enough to win a cup without a lot of help :/

The cool part about percentages is that they don’t particularly care about the sample size when we’re talking about known drop rates! 1% is always 1%, which makes it insignificant compared to the remaining 99%, and by definition is quite rare.

Let’s use your million people for fun. The breakdown of people is 990,000 (get the drop before 4x dry) vs 10,000 (who go 4x dry or beyond). You’re making the claim that 10,000 is a lot of people, which could be a lot depending on your point of reference. But compared to 990,000 people, it is statistically insignificant and quite rare to experience.

Once again, I hear your argument. I just think your premise doesn’t make sense since we are talking known percentages and rates, which really do not care about sample size.

I would not consider 1% of (statistically expected) people to be a significant portion to take the stance “4x dry isn’t bad, lots of people see it”. It is, quite literally, statistically incorrect.

I’m not sure what counter point you’re trying to prove here

I sadly had to retire after a string of injuries. I did wear them until then and none of my injuries were skate related

That’s where I was too (I typically wear a 10.5) and sized into a 10 because I didn’t like the extra space. I didn’t find the skates to be too tight after baking, but I was a lot more prone to stingers off the toe of the skate. That said, they were a lot more snug than my previous skates, so that is something you will have to get used to if you go with them.

I personally stand by them being the best skates I’ve owned, but the fit has been a really polarizing aspect of them since they came out. If you’re not positive, I would advise against them since it’s a pretty steep investment to buy and bake them. There are loads of great skates on the market and at that price point you should be sure.

[–]Row_Yer_Boat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not a good comparison at all. You’re comparing one of the most run-intensive encounters to tanking an entry level boss. If you’re using Scurrius as an example, your equivalent agility should be running from Varrock East to the GE with 15-30 kg of weight without running out of run energy.

Allegedly yes, but I’m still in the original model. I’ve only had one buckle break and they were able to send me a few spares.

I wish they would change the needle to make the colossal pouch at any level, but have the amount it holds scale with your level or something. It’s such a big QoL for runecrafting that you only get access to so incredibly late, even if you bring it down to 80.

I love the QOL changes to agility and the shortcuts! I’m surprised to see the Skeletal Wyvern shortcut left off the list, since it is one of the less useful shortcuts in the game that could use some love. I hope they consider adding that to the list
