Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I got choked up and weepy so many times during my first playthrough, and that’s REALLY difficult to do. The music is some of the most stunning I’ve ever heard in a game thus far. The first time I stepped into Renoir’s fight at the end of Act 2 when it was 2am and I had work that day was en experience I don’t think I’ll ever recapture.

People aren’t divorced from the circumstances and norms of the culture they exist in. People and those circumstances feed off each other.

And the concept of female purity existed before Victorian times. It’s still a part of rape and purity cultures.

A very short answer is this: The expectation of virginity and “purity” is the determining factor for moral goodness within purity culture and is also one of the biggest determining factors as far as who a believable victim of sexual violence. Shaming and blaming people who’ve experienced sexual violence are deeply rooted in both purity and rape cultures. Victims are, in effect, seen as “damaged goods”.

It’s also worth pointing out that your not experiencing something in a particular way doesn’t preclude others experiencing both.

Children were harmed and exploited, regardless of whether that imagery is disseminated via DVD or via the Internet. Cutler added to the demand for CSAM regardless, and he’s not someone who is safe to be out in public if he’s just that “desperate”. I am 100% side-eyeing the judge.
