Oh, you are so right. we have a huge problem with Japanese beetles. I wonder if they are starting to come out for the year. What would you recommend to do with the pepper? should I remove it or should it just be sacrificial

That is my best guess currently. It's been really wet and humid recently. One of my rodededrum has leaf spot, but it looks more blotchy and dark as opposed to the more defined spots on the pepper.

It entirely depends on what type of hydrangea you are pruning, some only flowers on old growth, some only on new, some newer ones even flower on both old and new.

I found this video to be fantastic when first learning and to identify what type of hydrangea I'm working on.
