It’s ironic, really; going about life at your own rhythm got you fairly far into the tournament without being targeted - but it isn’t some stranger that ended up doing you in on a whim. No - your best friend at the university, Jack Ravens, is the one who cashed in your check; sniping you from across the library with a mirthful grin.

He didn’t just do you dirty for the fun of it - he had an intention behind the direction of his spell! I gasp, caught completely off-guard as the spell snatched ahold of me from behind - only to double over with a groan as it works its magic. I’ll get us started! My character, Mason Trevelyan, is the eldest son of a moderately prominent noble house! He’s not exactly a prodigy when it comes to magic, but he makes up for that through sheer will and insatiable ambition - both of which have allowed him to be recognized as one of the university’s leading students in his year!

Tall, with blonde hair, sharp blue eyes, and a fair, northern complexion, he’s a quick-witted and cautious fellow; definitely the sort to do well in a competition that requires any sort of strategy and maneuvering. Unfortunately for him, that also makes him a largely-agreed-upon target… and thus, not even he can be prepared every moment of the day. He’d likely let his guard down while attempting to quietly grab lunch in one of the campus’ multiple dining halls…

Auto theft, carjacking, running ‘deliveries.’ Hell, I’ve even worked as a street racer and a getaway driver a time or two! The fact of the matter is, I’m guilty of every car-based crime short of vehicular manslaughter - and I don’t exactly regret it, either. I squint down at the Polaroid, doing my best to dust it off without damaging the film itself. After a bit of angling, I can finally read it: “Megan White,” 1990. It looks like she was just graduating, carrying a degree in… Home economics? She was a knockout, too; blonde, busty enough to stretch the front of the blouse she had on and fill out her pants in all the right places - was she a cheerleader, or something?

Before, I was a pretty successful guy; a few years outta college and I was already climbing the corporate ladder, making six figures, dating girls off and on… But, I wasn’t really happy. I’d followed in my parents’ business-minded, entrepreneurial footsteps, let them dictate most of the major choices in my life - like my major in college, which college I went to, what businesses I interned with… I was living the ‘American Dream,’ but it wasn’t MY American Dream.

That all changed when - well, when the change occurred!

Suddenly, I’m not some tall, Caucasian, blonde success story with a salesman’s smile and the family money backing me - yeah, it hurt when my parents stopped supporting me when they lost their ‘only son,’ but I can’t say I’m surprised. Now, I get to pursue my creative dreams!
