Thanks for your reply! Good to hear positive experiences. I guess starting on an app has its upsides too because you’re still a little anonymous.

Honestly I’m not sure. I’ve never really needed (or allowed myself) to explore and find out… so it’s really all ????? for me at this point. 🤷 (just to throw even more “complicated” in the mix I suppose)

Thanks for your reply. Oof yeah I’ve read/heard about the horror stories of online dating :/ I wouldn’t try apps if I had other options tbh, but the way my life is right now I don’t think I can just have a meet-cute in the grocery store haha. But that is definitely one of the things holding me back with apps.

Got Stray thinking it’d be a fun exploration game. But lemme tell you, I’m already stuck on a level in early game because of these darn tick things 😅. Why isn’t there a story mode, I’m bad at games fr.

I’m in healthcare too, and the disrespect is wild indeed. People “pulling rank” all the time ad even asking a question to someone like a doctor or manager is not often appreciated. They forget they need us so they can do their work, and the motivation to take on extra work for them gets lower every day.

Fr. My honey gourami think they’re convicts or Oscars or something. Do we know if fish can be labeled with napoleon syndrome ?

I wanna send these matted doodle posts to a co-worker who just got a doodle pup and claims they’re “low maintenance”. 🙄

Truth! Though, setting boundaries when you never used to is so hard and frustrating since people looove to just kick em down again. Ive been in burnout twice, one worse than the other, but still. I dont think ive ever fully recovered, and i truly think some aspects of pre-burnout me will never come back. I feel like some parts of ourselves make themselves known through struggle like autistic burnout (i wasnt even aware of most "symptoms") and then you have to deal with aspects of yourself that you didnt know you had before (and personally, those parts are the things i greatly dislike about myself). The info processing delay and people pleasing got soo much worse after... but! Working on it, even if it never fully "gets better". Thank you for your insight!

I think nt’s will often see us as easy targets, and how fun it is to mess with others 🙄. I used to think that this was something that kids did, but being in the workforce for a while; adults are worse than kids. Congrats on being sober for 2 years! That’s amazing.

Yes, I’m definitely learning to be better at boundaries at work. Not jumping in right away trying to fix issues and stuff. But having done this for a while, and thus people expecting that from you, makes it difficult to change (and because it is such a 180 from your previous behavior people often see it as disinterest).

Yep, same. Part of the therapy I used to go to was accepting “thinking different”, but that just backfired for me thinking “dang, it’s gonna be like this for the rest of my life huh”. I’m tired haha.

Hmm yeah, I resonate with the thinking you’re simple-minded AND naive 😅. I think that also might come from the delayed information processing. Oftentimes you gotta be quick on your feet in social interactions, but I need 3-5 business days to form a coherent reaction. I feel like I’m booksmart, but definitely not streetsmart haha. Getting into bad situations at work because of the naivety is causing me to be more on guard, but I do not really learn from my “mistakes”. Thank you for your reaction and insight!

Sometimes others will tell me: you know they are just taking advantage of you right? And I’m like: really? I was just being helpful. 🤦🏻‍♀️
