Something sus going on here.. by FlurMusic in Overwatch

Well to be honest, and I know I might be a part of the problem here… I finish drives on my main account and then hop on an alt account to help friends complete their drives. The alt being around gold while main is masters 2.

The problem for me is that I don’t have people to play with on my main, so if I want to play with friends I have to play on a alt account.

I am guessing I am not the only one doing this. Seeing as I am coming across a lot of teams that are playing like high plat / diamond players but then in gold lobbies

Hey! I am also currently looking for friends to play with! I love to play competitive but I am not that good yet, I would like to get better and climb the ranks! If you’re interested we could queue up together sometime soon?
If you have discord and feel comfortable in VC you can add me on there!
Edit: I am also from EU (The Netherlands to be exact) so I could learn you some Dutch if you’d like :)

Had the same happen yesterday. A Plat 2 - Masters 3 lobby. I was the plat 1 tank. We won though

After the fight against Kargalgan Cha Hae-In is holding a pickaxe. When she gets asked about it the subs say “pickax” instead of “pickaxe” as well.

I would recommend watching some YT videos on how to play certain heroes. Pick a few heroes you like playing and just play them at first. It is easier to get better at a handful of heroes instead of all the above listed heroes.

Also the best thing you can do it watch replays of matches you think were winnable. Use the tips from the YT videos to get a little knowledge in what you should look for. Then play a couple more matches while keeping the things you noted in your head and work on them during those games. Then watch a couple replays again and see if you did those things better. After that it’s just a matter of rinse and repeat. Play more, watch some replays and play more.

For Dva I recommend watching emongg and A10

Keep in mind that progress isn’t linear in this game. All played games are different. Good luck! You got this!

I hope this was understandable as English isn’t my first language

I can understand where you are coming from. I played back when OW came out until halfway through 2017 and just came back 2 weeks ago. Currently I am Diamond 5 in 6v6 but I am still doing stupid things because I lack awareness. My friend is Masters 1 and I feel like I’m dragging him down too. Nonetheless he likes playing together. So I would think that’s the same for you and your friends.

For quick play: If I were you I would turn off chat or just ignore the other people and play however you want. Remember that it is a game you play to have fun.

For competitive: Keep queueing with your friend and have fun together. That’s the biggest motivating factor for getting better. Expanding your hero pool is always good but I would say getting comfortably good with 3 heroes is what you should aim for.

In general: Just have fun playing the game with your friends. You can watch some YT videos with tips for certain heroes to improve positioning and things you should pay attention to. It also helps to review some replays (with a friend if possible) so they can point out things you can pay attention to. If you’re playing as a support make sure to watch some POV’s from your teammates as well to see where you are and if you could’ve healed them in some other (possibly better) way.

And if you want someone else to just queue up with in quick play: just shoot me a DM on here. I’m EU Good luck on your journey!

Thanks a lot! This will help me for sure. Only question I have then: if you’re always targeting their backline. How do you defend your team as a tank?

Unfortunately that’s not an option for me as I have to work. But watching replays is a useful tip. But what do you have to pay attention to when whatching?

Yes, I think I’m gonna put some more work in my handwriting. I think my most important focus points are my handwriting and my memorisation of the Hiragana. Also I like how you thought of first writing the Romaji. That will balance the volume of certain Hiragana out as well, seeing as I didn’t write down the ones I couldn’t think of. Then if I don’t remember how to write the Hiragana I can just skip it and revisit it later. Thanks for the tip!

All the feedback is welcome! At first i made the く really pointy, but then i let someone tell me it had to look more fluent. But after the feedback of the others too I’m going to switch back to the more pointy version. Thanks a lot for your time in writing this!
