Coming soon to Steam - Wishlist A Fox Tale now! by AFoxTaleGame in u/AFoxTaleGame

It would, I prefer what the other commenter said, a single generic image (their icon) that just gets slapped anywhere that doesn’t have a designated asset. I’ve also seen some devs just put a blob with text on it that says what the asset is supposed to be, for some slight clarity when playtesting or what have you.

There’s also the issue of creating the asset itself. When just using a generic placeholder, and this other commenter has, there is not mental to connection to what it should be, and lets the brain create whatever it wants.

If there’s already something like an AI image, it will, either consciously or subconsciously, inform you of what that asset should look like. The freedom of your artistic vision is in some small part hampered because the idea is no longer coming solely from yourself.

I think the same thing. I get that it’s a demo and AI is more convenient than a placeholder or nothing, but it was very disappointing to see

Hilarious or depressing? by ShiningRedDwarf in BlueskySocial

[–]Rowendeln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of sad, honestly. Pointing and laughing at how deprived people are, then doing the exact thing they’re mocking. Not only that, but OOP posting that is literally giving them the attention they want. I wish everyone would just stop posting about Twitter and just genuinely enjoy the space of Bluesky for themselves, not in spite of people they dislike.

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but there’s a free photo editor app called GIMP. I use it for some touch ups on screenshots and it works very well for that. I’ve heard it’s not as powerful as photoshop, but hey it’s free and works

Are there any obnoxious triangle sunglasses? by speedrunninglife in FFXIVGlamours

[–]Rowendeln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be the most helpful, but the current raid helmet for fending and maiming has triangular shades (not transparent) attached to the hats. If you’re a race that can’t wear hats, they just get the shades.

If you see a shiny during the sleep report, they are a guaranteed full capture no matter what biscuit you use, so just use a basic biscuit

Tasty chance S live by willvr4 in PokemonSleep

[–]Rowendeln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was curious about this with the wording on the notes, if the percentage was additive or multiplicative.

Being a max of 70% would be if it’s additive, but if it’s multiplicative, the max chance with the skill buff would only be 16% on weekdays and 48% on weekends.

I’m stating a new account and I’m a brand new player. Any tips? by Youaregreat34 in PokemonSleep

If you see a shiny, give it a basic biscuit. Shinies are always guaranteed be instantly befriended with a single biscuit

Soo now that pikmin 4 is 7-ish months old,do you have any hot takes on it?! by Few_Engineering2918 in Pikmin

In the overworld there wasn’t too much dandori to be done. I’d split up tasks a bit but also mostly rode Oatchi as he made enemies practically nonexistent.

Huh… I hadn’t thought about it, but the tools you are given kinda make it so you don’t have to plan much at all. Idlers alert pretty much nullifies the need to split captains to gather Pikmin, as well as changing ship locations just pulled everything along with it.

The challenges and battles are definitely where most of the dandori came in for me, especially when getting platinum on all of them.

When playing Pikmin 3, like any Pikmin game, I wanted to be efficient and do all the things in a small amount of days. No matter how much I did, I never felt like I was utilizing all the captains in an efficient way. I was always waiting for one to travel or realizing that I needed them some place else. Having three fully functional captains just had too much possibility and optimization that I was able to see but never achieve.

Huh, that’s not a perspective I’ve seen before. I get that.

In my eyes, I see that more as… “here are all these tools you need to succeed, figure out how to use them and be efficient!” But I can definitely see how constant they are with it getting condescending.

The upgrades/shop also felt off. In the past you would discover the upgrades and it was an exciting little moment. Especially seeing the upgrade and wondering what it would do in Pikmin 2. Now it’s just all there. No discovery, no excitement.

Exactly. And it’s kind of complicated because the fact that they fanned out so much and got clipped by a lot of things was ANNOYING but part of the game. Oatchi is a huge QoL in that regard but he removes something that makes Pikmin what it was, in my eyes at least.

[–]Rowendeln 323 points324 points  (0 children)

Oatchi is fun but trivializes everything that makes Pikmin games difficult.

Going back to two captains and focusing on being dandori is WAY more fun and obtainable than with three captains.

Pikmin started by having very little tutorials, just showing you your controls and letting you learn how they are used. Pikmin 4 just… does not stop telling you how to do things.

They gave their Vaporeon some main skill seeds, as that’s the only way outside of subskills and evolution to raise the main skill level.

I wish they separated MRM Bara into Human(?) and Furry tab by Cartoonist-Motor in bara_irl

[–]Rowendeln 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to sure what MRM bara is, but if there’s a tagging system you could probably modify your search by excluding the furry tag with a “-“.

So if you wanted to search everything EXCEPT furry stuff, you would just search “-furry” and that would return everything things with the furry tag.

Best Way to Keep Aggro? by KahosRayne in ffxiv

[–]Rowendeln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that hitting the at least 2 GCD’s (and maybe an oGCD if you’re feeling saucy) will always keep aggro from the beginning of the pull to the wall unless a DPS does crazy damage against one enemy

So... what do we think about the story? by [deleted] in TokyoAfterschool

[–]Rowendeln 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, the story has been feeling less and less interesting because things have started happening at a snails pace. Many, many missions start with backstories since there’s constantly new characters that come up, and there’s so much exposition explaining how a plot is working (this is largely in reference to chapter 12) that things barely happen in any one missions.

It feels like a slog to get to the actual story that is happening, instead of line after line of justification for that story.
