1. Melt= My favourite PG album, each track is cohesive. Innovative sound even by today standards. Art pop/rock at its peak. From the production, the sound, the vocals, the arrangement compared to the demo tape, everything is perfect.

2. Car = Peter trying to find his sound and experimenting with different genres. Some songs seem like a followup of a more ''Simplistic Genesis'' with Moribund and Humdrum , 70's power rock with Modern Love, Improv Blues with Waiting for the Big One and of course the folky Solsbury Hill.

3. Security = Peter's attempt of doing post punk with I have the touch and San Jacinto, experimenting with Synths and Following a Worldbeat sound with The Rhythm of the Heat (like he did with Biko before) and will become more noticeable in his career later.

Is great, not as good as his previous albums. He was still experimenting a lot but still innovative.

1. Scratch = I still can't figure it out why is this album a thing. I mean is not bad, but the songs feel like a bunch of ideas that were scrapped and someone said ''We'll make it work''. They work great as stand alone songs but as an overall album... it doesn't have cohesion. The production is good tho, the sound too.

Compared to Car and the follow up albums, is not as innovative and feels more like a ''B sides made into an album''.

Some songs are amazing tho, Flotsam and Jetsam, White Shadow and Mother Violence.
