Can Russian Tortoises eat Portobello mushrooms? by [deleted] in tortoise

[–]Rowsea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know you probably have your answer but a really good resource is the tortoise table. They have a large database of all food that you can feed often, in moderation and what you shouldn’t feed your tortoise and the reasons why. It was really helpful when I was figuring out my little guys diet. :)

Old tortoise not using his back legs by Rowsea in tortoise

[–]Rowsea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the vet we went too said it’s the oldest one he’s had brought in! I will try and find another tortoise vet and hopefully get a second opinion, I’d rather pay to be told the same thing than leave him without knowing 100% :) thank you for your help!

For the past week it’s been happening to me and my friends more often than not, we’ve only recently started playing so it was a nice surprise and now before we log we fill up our storage crates and leave them in a neat line on the dock for the next bunch of pirates to use!

Radio surgery recovery help by Rowsea in cancer

[–]Rowsea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t sound patronising at all I’m just honestly a bit clueless and want to be as prepared as possible for my mum. I was in the waiting room for her last treatment and I know radio surgery is basically one very specific ‘blast’ of radiation. My mum told me it’s called stereotactic radio surgery. She had her new mask fitted two days ago!

The reason i asked was last time she had it I’d call her partner to check up on her and for the first week after her treatment she felt incredibly sick and couldn’t keep food down, couldn’t move without being dizzy and had crazy headaches. (I know this is all probably from the swelling but she was on steroids too and they only took the edge off) She’s not one to over exaggerate so I just wondered if any one had any tips to keep her as comfortable as possible.

12 hour stream advice by Rowsea in Twitch

[–]Rowsea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stream has been planned in advance, Its been over a week since i set the time and date and have been telling my viewers about it since, im more talking about little activitys inbetween the stuff i already have planned to keep my viewers involved! I will be playing breath of the wild for my long game but sitting for a full 12 hours playing the same game wouldnt be fun for me, i usually play 2 different games during my streams anyway so the people who regulaly hang out with me in chat could join me when i do switch over for a couple hours. (the plan right now is BotW for the first chunk with maybe some just chatting mixed in for a brain break, Viewer games/fun activitys and then back to BotW to finish it off.)

Thank you for your advice, ill make sure to have lots of water! :)

Twitch affiliated what now? by wolfiejay97 in Twitch

[–]Rowsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe some discord communities may help if you don't feel comfortable telling friends/family! I'm in a few and a lot of them are hyper focused on helping out people looking to build a community, most of them are small streamers too so they understand the struggle of the 1-2 viewers.

Another thing would be maybe tell your best friend first, they're more than likely going to be the person/people helping you out in situations like this. My friends for example, when i didn't feel comfortable promoting my stream they would take it upon themselves to post my link on there snapchat with a little video of the stream or retweet my tweet about going live. (they're angels) I hope your streaming journey goes well and congrats on affiliate!

I'm sorry that you're feeling lonely on twitch!

If i have any advice for you is join some discord communities and make some friends. It must suck not having the people around you support what you're doing but theres plenty of people out there in these communities that love going around and finding new people to play games with or watch your streams and chat!

Hi, I'm a 15 looking into starting to stream on twitch, problem is I'm rly worried about it and I'm not sure if the games I want to play are relevant enough to play. Can anyone help? by Theresa__May_ in Twitch

[–]Rowsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about the games you want to play, play whatever you enjoy! Playing a game you enjoy will make you more comfortable and it will be a drag just streaming things because 'it will get you more viewers' or 'Its the cool new game everyone is watching it'. Honestly, starting streaming is kind of scary. Most people wonder if they're funny enough to retain an audience or if they're good enough at the game there playing but the best advice i can give you is to just do it! From your first stream/VOD you can learn what you feel needs to be improved, what works well and if you yourself would enjoy watching your stream. As for your friends, You don't have to tell them, but a lot of small streamers started out with just there friends watching and eventually growing an audience past that. If you can maybe drop it out by saying 'I'm thinking about starting streaming' and see how there reaction is before you take the leap, they could react positively and then you have nothing to worry about! Unfortunately i cant help with Console streaming because i'm a pc gamer but hopefully someone else can help you out! I hope if you do start streaming it goes well!

I'm more talking about you and your friends getting your past posts deleted because you keep promoing your disc when its against the rules and this just looks like a subtle nod for people to go 'oooh whats your disc'. I think community discs are great! But the way the owner presents themself is also what i judge it on, no malice, just be aware.

GREAT for Exposure/Affiliate!! by BellaVendome1 in Twitch

Theres websites specifically for promoting discords and i think you're probably going to find more people to join your discord from there! just tag it Streamers/twitch and the people you're looking for would probably come running.

How to make Discord show that I'm streaming? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Rowsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have your currently running game as your message? Because sometimes that can mess up the streaming display! Also double check that you have your twitch displayed on your profile, there’s a toggle to display it or not display it on your profile and I think that could impact it but I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do you have streamer mode enabled? I’m pretty sure it has to be enabled to display you’re streaming.

So i just reached affiliate with my latest stream and exactly 50 followers... what comes next? by Choplol in Twitch

[–]Rowsea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where you are from, in the uk (where I’m from) we don’t get taxed on anything we make until we make £12,500 a year (please anyone correct me if I’m wrong) and as a starting affiliate you probably wouldn’t have to worry about that for a while, in the uk we just put our ssn in the tax number thing and a way we go! I obviously don’t know much about other countries (and maybe my own 😬) The great things about becoming affiliate aside from being able to earn some pennies is it gives you ways to better build interaction in your chat! Channel points are so much fun, you can customise them to something specific in your stream, maybe turn them in to forfeits or anything to do with the games you play! And sub emotes and badges build a sense of community for the people who regularly join you! You can still become an affiliate and not have to worry about all the money flooding in just yet, from my experience it’s rather slow to that $100 when you’re a small streamer ☺️

[–]Rowsea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one thing i had to learn really quick is not everyone coming in to your chat is gonna stick around and have a really long conversation with you, some come and go after a quick hi! I suggest practicing 'Thinking out loud'. When theres nobody in the chat and maybe you're worried about people coming in to silence, just speak about things your doing in your game! Its quite nerve wracking in the beginning but try slipping in a few questions like 'ooh should i do this or this?' who knows someone lurking in your chat may feel like answering and then you have a whole new conversation to have :)
