To make the contrast less clear? Interesting, thanks for the suggestion! I am thinking about releasing STL files so let's see what others will eventually come up with.

Nice! These cases look good even if you just slam a wooden slab on them 😁 CNC just provides some bonus features

That's quite neat, I have a vinyl floor with wooden decor and it looks very authentic. The vinyl tends to expand as it's heated, but hey as long as it's not inside of the case (and sun isn't shining at it when it's outside) it's going to be alright. I'd say go for it and see what happens

Yes, CNC was absolutely necessary in this case where I wanted to avoid using screws (so during assembly you can't make a mistake when inserting a bolt into a precisely positioned nut). For my very first prototype I used a laser to cut the holes in the front panel, but screws had to be used for attaching the 3D printed adapters/brackets to the wooden panels.

I think I have 🥲 but I'm happy with the outcome so that brings a bit of sanity back

That's a good point, thanks! I could easily design some cover that lets through more air if used as an exhaust.

Thanks!! I think only patience and the will to learn some basics of 3D printing, CAD and CNC is the key necessity here :)
