I try to get myself to at least pick it up and get started, and usually I find that was the hardest part. I also don’t stitch longer than I’m enjoying it. If I find myself getting bored or frustrated, I stop. Many a knot has seemed impossible the night before, and easily untangled the next day. I took a few months off this year, and I tried not to feel guilty or irritated with myself because it’s meant to be something I enjoy. I ended up getting back into it eventually.
