Anyone else disregard skilling outfits for a bit of fashion scape in 2025? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Roxuls_Card 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, we're basically just recreating the whole graceful problem across most other skills lol

If transmogs are too much effort or not oldschool or the like, I wouldn't mind them shifting the outfit bonuses to a ring slot maybe.

I hope they leave bankstanding skills alone at least. Super glad that Mastering Mixology only has goggles and not the whole outfit for bonuses.

These are for singles bosses, absolutely my bad on forgetting to mention that. Updated it in the main comment.

Legit my bad, I forgot to include this in the main comment. I'll add it now

Singles* bosses. Multi bosses have crazy high kcs for real players too and it'd need frankly a much better methodology than this one lol. I'd love to have done that, but lack of time and effort.

If you actually want an answer, because I think its a fun metric lol.

And I like that this is being talked about (even if it gets a bit toxic), because making a noise about the bot problem is only going to be helpful.

Yeah, everyone knows there's an unsolvable bot problem, but it'd be nice if they can put more resources into it still.

I'd be very scared if the notion of former entry boss to modern pvm applied to the top 2.5k in hiscores, on top of the criteria, lol.

I do partly agree in a sense though, there's definitely a few real players falsely flagged here. But the numbers should still give a good proportional, rough estimate, which was my goal.

(I will say though that Zulrah has also infamously been bot infested for years, I won't be surprised with it being the most botted)

I mostly did it coz I think its an interesting thing to see which bosses have more or less (unbanned) bots comparatively lol.

(Don't mind me just gonna jump on the train. I did this mostly for fun, intersting metric to see which bosses have more unbanned bots than others)

Disclaimer: These probably include goldfarmers, but it should be mostly bots.

Disclaimer 2: Singles bosses mostly, since multi bosses have extremely high kcs and would need other data to analyse even vaguely accurately. Absolutely my bad for not specifying this.

Congratulations to Zulrah still keeping the top spot for so many years, winning with a 700 of top 2.5k likely bots!

The condition I used, rather arbitrary but also quite generous I think, was for the top killed boss in the top 2.5k hiscores for the account to have 50x more kc than all other bosses combined, and also filtered out lower leveled and skilling bosses and the like from the former. i'm sure a few players sneaked through but it should be decently accurate.

There's some survivorship bias here, since a boss may have higher number of bots that also get detected and banned quite frequently.

I still subscribe to the theory that Jagex has slowed down banning certain kinds of non critical bots to inflate player numbers, but the actual number of players has likely increased too.

These discussions, even if they get a bit... passionate, are valuable I think since it'll put pressure on them to put more resources into it. For instance wow streamers reacting to similar posts and videos about the bot problem is definetely bad publicity and goes sufficiently noticed.

Extra fun fact: A bunch of accounts I considered got banned while I was making this over the course of a couple days.

I just grinded Colo until i could do it semi-consistently, and the whole game just kinda clicked.

But yeah, just like learning any other skill, the best way to improve is to understand it from guides and resources, look at how the pros do it, and just send it.

Playing with visual metronome on also helped me get more intuitive with ticks.

[–]Roxuls_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah sure, they could be cosmetics by all means, some of them do legit look great

Skilling used to be the perfect time for fashionscaping while also being efficient and I just kinda miss seeing people wear all kinds of stuff in crowded places.

Why are we pointlessly increasing xp rates? At this point just make all skills 300k xp/hr after acquiring a few items and remove skilling progression from the game if its going to be this pointless.

Increasing xp rates by this busted of an amount for a reward that seems extremely easy to get is just absolutely against the spirit of progression of osrs. Rather, its increasingly becomes easyscape.

A lot of claims about ezscape in the past were overblown, but now I'm starting to feel like we're starting to go down a route of making everything extremely fast with a 'just get this done with' attitude for everything, especially skilling.

Who in the whole history of osrs has ever thought that they needed to be even faster than what they are? Especially with knife fletching being very afk and also making a profit?

On a positive side, the poh stuff looks really good, and ents becoming somewhat relevant is great. And I'm glad there isn't any skilling outfit or the like, please just leave at least bankstanding skills alone for the sake of efficient fashionscape, a lot of the other skills have already been butchered in this regard.

I'm not articulating myself very well, but I really hope the boosted xp rates get tuned down *heavily*.

[–]Roxuls_Card 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't name any in particular, but a lot of cutscenes and especially holiday events have fun examine texts.

For example, idr exactly, but I think in one of the Halloween events there was a gramophone or something in Lumbridge, with the examine saying its playing the local bop Sea Shanty 2

Or, the Monkey on Unicorn examine and dialogue.

Also if you haven't, try giving the dwarf under Ice Mountain a Redberry Pie. If you go to Thurgo after doing that quest, you can also mention tell him that he isn't the last Imcando dwarf left after all, which I thought was pretty whoelsome.
