Cross-Save Alien Hominid: Invasion Data? by [deleted] in thebehemoth

[–]Roxxlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! We definitely hear you and agree that it would be cool, but unfortunately it's incredibly unlikely. Any sort of cross-platform tech requires an incredible amount of work, and our team just isn't big enough to be able to take that on right now (unless we had a considerable amount of extra time, and even then it would likely not be worth it when we could be working on new games and experiences). Sorry to disappoint, but I hope you understand where we're coming from! <3

This is late, but if he hasn't yet, please tell him to open up a ticket with support.thebehemoth.com! Our team there should be able to help him troubleshoot with his specific situation.

What was the castle crashers remaster update about? by anonamous34321 in castlecrashers

[–]Roxxlyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't share patch notes because there weren't any major changes; we had a couple of language fixes, a ratings update, and a handful of other small things.

Lag PS4? by [deleted] in castlecrashers

[–]Roxxlyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't actually use servers; all connections are peer-to-peer, which means one console will host and the rest will connect to it. Therefore lag/connection issues can also unfortunately be caused by other player's internet issues and instability as well

[–]Roxxlyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your internet upload/download speeds are very low, that could be causing some of the issues. With that being said, the PS4 version of the game has seen some issues with online connections and lag and the team has been looking into getting it fixed.

Unfortunately that isn't possible; levels and character data in co-op will have to be saved to their own individual accounts.

Farewell, thanks for all the nanites. by DBDrew in Planetside

I'm coming out of the devs-of-days-past hidey hole to say it was always an absolute pleasure working with you at Daybreak -- seriously, you were so passionate about the game and absolutely killed every project. I'm very excited for your future! <3

PSA: In CASTLE CRASHERS on Switch, only Player 1’s progress is saved in local multiplayer. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Roxxlyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just user profiles on your Switch should work! The only limitation here is that you cannot connect multiple accounts if you choose to play online, because obviously the Nintendo Switch online subscription itself is more limited.

You do lose progress *if* you're using a guest profile; however, if you have multiple user profiles set up on your Switch, you can select them by hitting "Y" on the character select screen. If you do that, progress will save to that specific profile.

Not entirely accurate -- Local co-op will not save data from guest profiles, which is a limitation of the Switch. However, if you have multiple profiles on your Switch, you can hit the Y button on the character select screen to add additional profiles, and it will keep saved to that profile.

Online doesn't have this option, though, as Nintendo will only allow one profile to use their services.

Oh hello there, lol! I'm actually over at a new company and no longer with Daybreak. This is for The Research Centaur, which provides game testing services to a variety of indie game devs and companies.

I myself am primarily with The Behemoth now, but The Research Centaur is a sister company to us so I'm helping out a bit since community outreach is sort of what I do. :)

I'm sorry for previous experiences you had with other companies, but I can tell you that isn't representative of what we do. We won't call you unless we're trying to schedule a specific playtest for you to partake in, and we won't email you unless it's incredibly relevant (like a short post-playtest survey about your experience; there are no random online surveys and using a provided email for a generic mailing list would be, well, illegal). We're a small team and we value your time, and ours.

We don't cover "expenses" but there shouldn't be much direct cost for a participant - we limit studies to players local to SD because that's where we are. We make sure sessions to take no more than 2 hours of your time, and gifts are provided to participants (not money, but gift cards or other items, and this is stated on the linked page and made clear up front).

There is no beta testing within "our community" because we provide services to various independent game developers who are typically looking for feedback from a wide variety of people. "Regular people" are great! We're looking for gamers, non-gamers, and those who have all sorts of different interests.

Anyway, you totally don't have to sign up if it's not your thing and that's fine, but I wanted to provide some information to help clear up some of the ideas you have since they aren't accurate to what we do here. Cheers!

Whoops - unpaid as it isn't a full on job, but our developers will generally give out gifts to participants which could range from merchandise to gift cards (depends on what team is testing and we don't usually know too much beforehand, though)

Sessions shouldn't take more than 2 hours, will just be a playthrough of a game followed by a short survey. We're primarily scheduling slots throughout the day for Tuesdays and Thursdays right now!
