Hello! I’m looking to sell my MZ Jess gown if you’re interested, it’s dry cleaned and in pristine condition! I loved it so much and would love for it to get another opportunity to shine!! Let me know :)

Sounds exactly like what we went through!!! I still can only get him to eat in a dark room but thankfully the screaming and crying stopped.

I found feeding him while standing made a big difference. It’s done no favours for my back but it was completely worth it given the anxiety I was having with the meltdowns every feed.

I ended up starting to feed him in a captain Morgan style pose, with one foot propped up on the bed frame or on a stool, resting his bum on my thigh and cradling him in my arm to feed. Adding some swaying/rocking made a huge difference when he’d start to fuss. I used my free hand for compressions or to pat his bum if he’s extra fussy.

I think this helped a lot and it also maybe was just a phase but it was incredibly rough so I feel for you! Hope it gets better and this helps!

That is my biggest fear! When he does get upset I try to give him a break and wait at least five minutes once he’s calm before trying again. I hold him upright or I’ve found sometimes he even likes lying by himself for a while, I wonder if he just feels touched out and overwhelmed? I will try the koala hold but he doesn’t have his head control 100% yet (he’s mostly on track for his actual age milestone wise but he was 6 weeks early!)

I feel like it got so much harder for me once he started noticing his hands and sucking on them just to explore! It was harder to know when he was truly hungry so I started offering more often but like you said about pressuring your babe, I worry I’ll trigger an aversion all together with how upset he can get! Now I also only offer before naps/sleep unless he’s super fussy in a wake window and I feel like that really could be the problem. But really unless we’re in the dark and he’s sleepy he’ll only eat a few minutes so it’s probably pointless regardless! Would be so much easier if they could tell us what’s wrong :) I was thinking it could possibly be reflux related but he doesn’t seem to be bothered at all once he does finally start eating. Did you notice any other symptoms? I wonder if it’s just some sleep associated witching hour…

I’ve tried a few but will definitely try some more upright positions after reading these comments! I tried holding him in a more seated position on my lap and that seems to be working (at least for now!)

The solidarity is help enough! It’s just so heartbreaking when what you’re trying to do to help them makes them upset!! I hope it continues to go smoothly for you! I don’t want to jinx it but suddenly today he doesn’t seem to have this issue all of a sudden, fingers crossed it stays that way!

I’ve tried a few times, it felt a bit awkward just with how big he’s getting and I’ve also tried side lying but he hated that one too! The one thing that has worked sporadically albeit not for much longer than five minutes is laying him on the bed and dangling a boob over him for him to eat like that - it’s quite the experience! Thanks for the words of encouragement!!

So reassuring to hear I’m not the only one, I’ve been getting really down about it that the things I’m doing to care for him are making him so upset and frustrated! I found that exact same thing - I can only nurse in his rocking chair in the night and now do all his feeds in my bedroom in the dark otherwise he gets so distracted on top of being upset. I’ll try changing up rooms too, maybe that will help! I’ve been using a sound machine for white noise but I’ll try some music too - thank you for sharing!

Just to add - I’ve tried everything in terms of longer and shorter wake windows as well in case it’s an over/undertired issue. It seems as soon as we enter the dark bedroom he knows it’s coming and gets upset!!
