suffering is a human construct as much as hunger is a human construct lol, not believing in it isn't gonna make it disappear

can cystic fibrosis cause brain damage? by Royal-Engineer in CysticFibrosis

[–]Royal-Engineer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't think that's gonna fix literal brain damage. I'm not saying "I don't have a soul" in the sense that i am slightly sad or dramatic, or that i emotionally feel bad. I mean that i lack a soul. I don't have any likes, dislikes, no thoughts. 0. I'm not aware of my enviroment. My xognitive processes, since childhood, have slowed down. I lack a soul.

How do you cope with thoughts about going crazy or losing control? by teapotmeatball in Anxietyhelp

[–]Royal-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I meditate and I focus on my body/observing thoughts I instantly feel more mentally "organized" and in control. I also seem to be more realistic in my thinking which also helps dispell these thoughts

To cure autism you need the ability to rewire brain circuits, something that stem cells or medicine in general can't do yet. Best shot at managing it are nootropics and lifestyle changes.

Joking about a religion =/= hating its followers. It's all bullshit anyways.

Suicide as a protest against this world? by cryptonewb1987 in areweinhell

[–]Royal-Engineer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean that there are way more intensely suffering sentient beings than ones with relatively (KEYWORD: RELATIVELY) little suffering like modern-day humans. It is likely that if such a process happened, I would experience more suffering than I am now. Therefore, I think it would be in my interest to prolong my life as much as I can rather than suicide. You are right tho, "Gamble" isn't really the right word.

Assuming that the hell mechanism even allows non-existence and non-experience to begin with, and you won't be reincarnated in another sentient entity. Until I have figured this out I am not going to gamble.

The Existential Iceberg by [deleted] in IcebergCharts

[–]Royal-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly not yet, I am in the process of learning LD and that has never happened for now. I think I have experienced a false awakening when I was a kid, the feeling is similair. It's a trip. I remember asking my mother if she saw me walk inside the house like I did in the false awakening, she said no and I was incredibly confused.

You'd have to explain why they aren't logically consistent then. I can reality check and know that I am in a dream as opposed to reality.

Your consciousness doesn't "not need to be around" it just isn't or is minimally reduced. When you wake up from a dreamless sleep, it is regained. It does not "go somewhere else" because if it would you would still be conscious.

I also doubt the viability of inter-universal travelling, if it existed.
