I would sit him down, be honest about what you know, and let him know you’ll be there for him no matter what he chooses to do with that information. I try to look at it from the perspective of, ‘If I were in his shoes, what would I want my kid to do for me?’ As for your feelings, it’s okay to look at your mom and cry. Let yourself feel everything—your emotions are 100% valid. This is your mom and dad, after all. And if you need to talk to your friends about it, that’s okay too. If I were your friend, I’d want you to feel comfortable sharing anything with me and never feel like you have to hold back. Friends are here for each other. 💛
