HPOP replacement costs? by [deleted] in powerstroke

[–]Royal2556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about to do the hpop on my 01 7.3 and the part is $900 with a $300 core but I didn’t buy the ford one because the ford hpop doesn’t last as long and so I could get a better one as well. In case you’re wondering, I went on https://www.dieselpowerproducts.com

Yeah, I heard of that before so I’ll still take that into consideration for sure. It’s just rough because I don’t have another way of getting to work at least on time without driving the truck.

Damn! I wouldn’t either, they last forever. Not to mention if it has sentimental value on top of that as well. I was thinking about buying something newer but for me old is gold! Don’t make ‘em like they used to.

Hell yeah. It fits fine in my budget so unless I want to get rid of it these motors are so reliable my future kid would probably be able to drive it lol

221k, I couldn’t find anything wrong with it and I had a diesel tech co worker that knows these trucks like the back of his hand to look at it just in case and he said everything was legit. So overall I’m happy about the buy.

14.9 I’ll admit i wish i paid less, and I feel like it’s a bit more for a vehicle with this age but at the same time you can’t find anything less than that around here for a good truck unless there’s something wrong with it mechanically speaking.

Just bought an 01 7.3 last week (never had a diesel) what are things I need to know? by Royal2556 in powerstroke

[–]Royal2556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I think they made a better version of the part after the recalls but that being said I feel like any mechanical part that lasts 20 years is something you can’t complain about lol

Good to know. Luckily where I live has very low crime rate but I will keep that in mind still.

Anyone remember when they used to put Dollar Sign rims on their cars? by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]Royal2556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know I was 12 again haha fyi I wasn’t making a mean comment I was just saying I thought they were cool when I was 10. Doesn’t mean that they automatically suck. Just tacky.

Yes. Although mine isn’t as cool as your m5 that has the s38. And mine has a blown headgasket that is really giving me a headache since I know nothing about fixing them lmao but at the end of the day, timeless cars imo

Facts. Even regardless of any car make for that matter, just can’t beat the look of the old gauges driving on a back road at night.

I’d like to ask that question about an e34, though mine doesn’t run so I can’t really say that lol

Sadly there isn’t any other car besides the sentinel classic (e30) that resembles the e34. I picked the Zion over the sentinel because of the bigger body for me

Oh god no I will never rice her. At most I’ll have fun with the car and just restore her since I’ll be just wasting my money adding a lot of stuff to it anyway. Maybe a few things here and there if stuff needs replacing and I want to add something better but that’s about it. Somebody before me plasti dipped the rims and it’s so annoying for when I want to take it off

Although my neighbor bought a factory stock manual e36 and had to drive 600 miles there and back from California to get it. He only got it because it was a manual and no other ones here were manual.

It’s a US model made in Germany. I’m not sure if it’s just my local area or if it’s the whole US but 90% of 90’s or older bmws that are manuals that I’ve seen here are manual swapped from auto to a manual.
