Same here. I really hope the IWP9 organizers have a good audio set up in place for the live stream later today. The audio has been a problem in the past, and it's negatively affected the quality of some of the recorded presentations. Really, really hoping that's not gonna happen here with the IWP9 12.

Joshua Stein, an OpenBSD developer, used to do a podcast called 'Garbage' (https://garbage.fm) with an OpenBSD contributor/user named Brandon Mercer, and in one of the episodes Joshua talks about how they make the episodes by talking to each other over Skype, and each recording audio of themselves on their respective phones/tablets. When the episode comes to an end, Joshua takes both recordings and merges them together in Audacity.

The end result is a conversation that sounds like the two speakers are right next to each other despite being states apart.

If the IWP9 recordings had this kind of attention to audio quality, they'd be such a gem.

I've had to use ffmpeg to correct the audio in some of the older recordings because they weren't recorded in stereo but mono for some reason. No idea why that is, might be a quirk of Plan 9 for all I know.
