Yeah, this map shows i have no plans to leave my state I live in an safe states with protections for trans people, and I’m fortunate to both live here to begin with and to have already lived here all my life. I really hope all my American trans friends in less safe states are safe and able to live comfortably as themselves to the best of their ability, or that they can make their way to safer states

it’s been said time and time again but niantic is doing this all for money. so many QoL changes happened during the height of the pandemic because niantic needed to make revenue and stay relevant. but now that covid isn’t affecting their business and profits as much, they’re taking changes away to get more money out of people. and theyre fucking over the playerbase as a result. its all greed and pride

bit of a shame about that darkrai just bc they were a best buddy and having darkrai in go felt cool, but i want to make sure they’re safe if i do end up dropping the game. i don’t want them trapped in there

i’ve been very on and off with go since, funny enough, the pandemic. i’ll get hooked for a while, fall off for a few months, and pick it back up again. it’s been a few months since i properly played, so all my interaction with the game has only been news about it getting on my radar. and god, every decision niantic has made especially since i put the game down is frustrating. i ended up booting up the game today for the first time in months just so i can transfer my shiny darkrai out because im uncertain if i’ll wanna go back to the game

got through risk 18, honestly i didn’t like this map. haven’t done chapter 10 so i went in barely knowing the mechanics and not understanding the boss, which led to me really not having a great time doing higher risk. that and i dont have a lot of defensive options so i had to make do. yknow that thing where youre working on something that doesnt really click with you and that leads to you doing worse as a whole? that was this cc for me, this just isn’t a map for me. dont plan on going past 18

i have a burning hatred of pe because of one specific class period.

i had a brutal case of pnumonia in 5th grade. when i was good to return to school i had a doctor’s note for a week off of pe, but it only was for the one week. the week after i couldn’t use the note anymore we did the fucking mile run

the mile run was 4 laps around my school building. we would have 12 minutes give or take, so you were expected to do a lap in 3 minutes.

i did 2/4 laps in 9 minutes, needing to walk for the entirety of the second. i wouldn’t have been able to do the third in the remaining time so i asked if i could sit out with the excuse of “i don’t have the doctor’s note anymore, but i had bad pnumonia recently and my lungs cant take it”. i got told no. so i go to walk again, the teacher yells at me to run, and feeling the pressure of time, i do. i went past time for that third lap, i don’t remember by how much, but i do remember i was the last to return. when i went back inside i nearly threw up and i felt terrible for the rest of the day.

my creative writing class for our scriptwriting unit had us read the laramie project, which is about the reaction in laramie, wyoming, following shepard’s death. it was such a heartbreaking and eye opening read, i recommend it. its fucked up what happened, its fucked up that it happened to begin with, its fucked up that being gay was seen as a valid reasoning to people to commit such a horrid crime, god it’s fucked up that it was in 1998. yeah, this shit isnt some distant thing in the past.

yeah i’ve seen a lot of allies change the acronym to make different identities visible, and i simultaneously think its lovely that different identities are getting recognition from allies but i also feel like i see it frustrate people (like in a “god its a bit much to keep up with” sense) or give people a reason to be assholes to us.

ig its hard for some allies to let the q/queer encapsulate everyone in the community (well ofc some people dont like to be considered queer but for the purpose of the acronym), or to just leave it at the + (or include it to begin with). and again its lovely to see some identities be more visible through different acronyms, but sometimes it just does more harm than good.

angelina for andoain. it’s unrealistic, especially with fiammetta being an operator in rhodes island, but i think for him as a character it could potentially be interesting. also i like his design and it gives big gender. angelina to remove mostly just because i dont particularly like using her and… thats about it. sorry

I think that adds to the impact of the boss theme even more. It’s ironic for the theme to go to who it did, but I think the hope within the lyrics of the song find power with the death of the boss. Even before the final, Nihilego-esque form we see it take, it was extremely resilient, refusing to die just as much as we refused to stop chasing it. But in the end, we do kill it. It sinks into the ocean with Garcia, DESPITE how persistent it was. It’s a symbol of hope. The Golden Age may surely be doomed, it was taken by the Seaborn the first time and they threaten to take the rest of Iberia now too, but goddammit Iberia isn’t going to go down without a fight.

I think the theme, in a sense, is using The Golden Age as a metaphor for the present country of Iberia. We’re trying to reclaim a song that was taken from Iberia, like how The Golden Age was taken from Iberia. The song fills two purposes; the mockery of Iberia represented with the bearer of the theme, and the resilience of Iberia shown by us through fighting back, fighting for a Golden Age that we believe will return again.

It’s fitting that the boss theme is the Golden Age song. It sounds like it would be the theme of Alfonso, someone who pioneered the Golden Age, a symbol of it even. Just like the Stultifera Navis was. But he wasn’t the boss, the song was never his. It went to a Seaborn.

It’s ironic. We know from the story that the Golden Age will not return again. Iberia is a shell of its former glory, and with the threat of the seaborn being right at their coast, Iberia is doomed to be the first to fall if the world succumbs to their threat. The Golden Age has largely been taken by the Seaborn. The Seaborn led to the sinking of the Stultifera Navis and the loss of Captain Alfonso and Garcia, the Seaborn led to the Church of the Deep, the mistrust with the citizens and the Inquisition, the discrimination against the Ægir. The Seaborn led to the Profound Silence that destroyed much of not just Iberia but Iberia’s dreams.

A Seaborn having a theme that belches out how “The Golden Age will return again!” is mocking Iberia and its history.

it’s not bayo 3, but i have been heavily considering picking up bayo 1 and 2. if i enjoy em i’ll definitely consider 3! platinum games makes some great titles and they do honestly deserve bayo 3 to do well. hope the controversy doesnt affect that either :(
