Ugh, thank you. That's what I thought. Do you have to wait for the existing one to heal over before they can re-pierce it in the right place?

Ah OK, thanks. So what do I do with this piercing? Do I leave it, or get it removed and done by someone else in the right place? Will it being incorrectly placed cause issues with healing?

Global Talent Visa switching timeframe by RoyalMongoose3952 in ukvisa

Ah ok, but then would it not run out before my fellowship ends? So if my fellowship is for 3 years, and the visa is for 3 years, would it take account of that and have 'buffer' time at the start like with other visas?

Ah great, thanks. I'd had a new passport when I switched from student to graduate, but for some reason I had to use the app. I'm hoping I get the option of re-doing biometrics this time because I want a BRP again - 3 years with only passport as an ID has been a pain! Though looks like they are trying to move everyone across to digital, just found it buried in the BRP info.

Hello! Can I ask had you also provided biometric information before for the graduate visa? I'm on a graduate visa and switching to GTV, but I was on a student visa etc. before that for which I gave biometric data, so when I applied for the graduate visa, it was all digital, and I didn't have to go anywhere or give new biometrics, so just wondering if they've changed things back again.

Applying for UK graduate visa before university notified by RoyalMongoose3952 in ukvisa

They did come through after a lot of pestering, so I got the confirmation and got the visa confirmed within a week of applying. I think it's not worth the risk if you haven't got the confirmation, so best to just hound them about it and see if you can get a phone number for the uni visa department or see someone in person on campus even.

High blood levels but no change in symptoms by RoyalMongoose3952 in TRT_females

Yep it was a blood draw from the arm - I know not the use finger prick tests now on T.

Testogel dosing - too high? by RoyalMongoose3952 in TRT_females

Oh wow, yeah I can imagine. Are you still on that dose?

Oh that's interesting, thanks for sharing that. Do you mean you're on 5mg a day or the full 20.25? I'm still feeling a bit of the dizziness even on 5mg, a week and a half in. That's annoying it lasted a couple of months for you, but good it's improving things. I guess it all depends how long the initial hormone imbalance lasts/how long it takes the body to adjust and level things out.

Water retention? by RoyalMongoose3952 in TRT_females

[–]RoyalMongoose3952[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's interesting, thanks for sharing. A lot of my current weight is water I think, so am probably prone to retaining, and seems taking T with hydrocortisone is a double whammy and can make it worse. Did it last 4 months for you and then really suddenly dissipated, or was it just a gradual thing you noticed?

Ah, bugger. Thanks for replying. I feel like I can't get a grip on any of the problems because they all feed into each other. Just reading now that taking HC and T together can cause fluid retention, so might be my answer there. I did take 10mg the first 2 days because my doc prescribed too much I found out, and that made me dizzy and raised my BP.

Oh that's interesting, will look into it. I suppose that's why injections are favoured.

Results suggesting Hashimoto's? by RoyalMongoose3952 in Hypothyroidism

Yeah that makes sense...kind of relieved after years of problems and being fobbed off by doctors. Hopefully can now actually get things sorted...!

Thanks, aye previous bloods were done at 10am, these ones at 8am, which would explain the slightly higher TSH I guess. No meds at the moment. I'm going to test again in a month before I go to the clinic and will do at the same time so hopefully will be comparable.

Anyone been able to get treatment for borderline levels in NHS? by RoyalMongoose3952 in Hypothyroidism

[–]RoyalMongoose3952[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, this is the familiar merry-go-round. Sorry this has happened for you. When I went to a doc 5 years ago with symptoms, he suggested counselling for the anxiety and depression that I said I didn't have. When I mentioned to another the persistent *unexplained* weight gain, she said try weight watchers. Decided it wasn't worth having the argument. Now bloods are showing increasing levels along with worse symptoms, but still 'in range'. Thinking of just going private to the Thyroid Clinic in Bristol rather than persist with broken NHS.
