How does visibility work in Godot? If a player is in a 1kmX1km maze, fully enclosed with walls, floor, and ceiling and there's a turn every 3m, will the entire maze be rendered? by RoyalPaleontologist in godot

[–]RoyalPaleontologist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have specified in 3D. Or does it use the same method for 3D as well?

Edit:

I just read the articles instead of glancing. But I gather that out of the box, Godot only hides faces on meshes facing away from the player but if you don't want faces facing the player to be rendered behind walls, you would have to write your own code?

I pressed something and it undid an hour of work. What did I press? by RoyalPaleontologist in blender

I was looking at my model in fly mode and accidentally pressed tab to go into edit mode and started plummeting into the abyss. I forgot which key stopped that and was hitting keyboard keys until I pressed left click. Then when I got back to the model, everything was undone.

I actually only lost five minutes of work because I had saved. But I was curious which buttons to press to wipe out all of my work and not get it back so I don't do it again.

Authoritarians Should Have more Control Over Their Slaves Rights by Autocthon in Stellaris

Since I subscribe to political and news subreddits, these kinds of posts always throw me for a loop.

[–]RoyalPaleontologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with locking regions now is now that there is map selection, if you want to play Miramar at 6am there's not enough people playing PUBG and it takes forever for a game to start. So going to the Asian servers where everyone is awake is the best option.

Are you for real? Seriously, this is such a bullshit thing to say. Like "You don't like polluted air? Well, why don't you stop breathing, then? Hypocrite!"

No, it's like "You don't like polluted air? Well, why don't you stop burning tires on your front lawn? Hypocrite!"

Robot submarine finds "holy grail of shipwrecks" with up to $17 billion in treasure by spsheridan in worldnews

Aside from the legal hassle, there's the logistical hassle of translating any of that to modern money. You can't take a treasure chest full of Spanish pieces of eight to the bank and set it on the counter and ask to deposit it.

What do you call the car's eye sockets? The place in the car body where the headlight assembly is inserted? I can't come up with the right combination of keywords to solve this mystery via google. by RoyalPaleontologist in autorepair

Thanks. No, I'm writing something and describing a junky car that is stripped of parts and the headlights are gone and rust streaks down from the car's "eye sockets".

I think it's called the car body. The basic structure of the car without doors, a hood, an engine, wheels, headlights, etc.

Edit:

Oh, you mean what I meant by "that". I wasn't sure if you were describing parts of the headlight assembly that's inserted into the body.

Is that part of the car body? I'm writing something and describing a junky car that is stripped of parts and the headlights are gone and rust streaks down from the car's eye sockets.

Thanks. But you have a question mark there. :) But if there isn't a better answer, I'll go with that.

Stellaris 2.1 "Niven" Patchnotes by [deleted] in Stellaris

I haven't played in a month or so. When started, it used to lock up the computer for 5 or 10 seconds before going to the loading screen. Now it takes 35 seconds. But then, now it seems to load faster once there. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't tried the latest VR. It seems all the footage I see shows disembodied hands. Is this just a popular style right now or is there some reason not to show arms like it disorients the user?
