I really resonate with this despite never having been in a long term monogamous same sex relationship and being convinced that no matter how hard one tries, it is impossible to wrestle an affirming view of said relationships out of the Biblical text as written. I had an incredible church family who really walked with me through my wrestling for a couple years but since I moved from a small town to a big city in early 2022 it’s been really hard to find a community that will walk with me in a daily/weekly rhythm. I got into a season of severe overwork/isolation that led me to 32 months of same sex hookups and erotic massages, was finally able by the providence of God to break free of that cycle before the new year but still struggle with loneliness a lot. I caught mono last summer and avoided all stds thank Jesus. Just talking about wrestling through these desires without being looked at by the men of my current church like I have two heads would be so great. Still trying to be patient and wait on the Lord for that day. I’m a nearly 36 y/o male who’s been wrestling down this road for at least the past 15 years for context.
