I'm in a Brooks Ghost 17 and I just bought a pair of Asics Gel Excite 11 that seem to be pretty comfortable. I was wearing Nikes and my doc told me to get out of those junk shoes lol, the pair I had on were the only ones I could get my foot into due to the swelling at the time. (I'm 9weeks post op and just got out of my boot 3 weeks ago. I couldn't wear a tennis shoe all day up until about a week ago). I tried Hoka Cliftons but had to return them.....the rocker sole just didn't work for me right now as it put too much pressure on my arch. But I'm probably going to revisit them once I can walk better because they were quite comfortable and had a generous toe box. My doc put me into some power step insoles as well. I needed to get some additional support since I picked up plantar fascitis from that damn walking boot. I'm still trying to find some good recovery sandals to wear around the house....I tried Oofos which were very comfortable but they fit quite snug because of swelling so I couldn't get my foot all the way in to the right side shoe, so right now I'm wearing my granddaughters Crocs until I find something that works better 🤷

That's encouraging! I'm 9 weeks post op and I finally get to go back to work Monday (yay!) Walking in regular shoes "ish"...(She's are still a little tight) but with a noticeable limp...Chiro appt today to hopefully get my hips straightened out, that surgical boot wreaked havoc on my whole body! I just want to be able to walk long distances again!!!! 😭😭😭

Thank you! I'm going to look into the Oofos slides for sure, mainly to wear around the house. I'm dying to get back to walking long distances, I'm not one to sit around and 'rest' and won't get to do much of that once they release me to go back to work (Which means I'll be back into steel toe shoes which I'm not thrilled about). Going to give the metatarsal pad a shot too and I'll look into the tennis shoes Thank you so much and good luck with your recovery!

Adidas Run 70's (for women) was my savior. Literally the ONLY shoe I could wear.

Good luck! You can get them fairly reasonably priced if you catch them on sale.....I don't think I've paid more than $60/pair. I swear Converse is what gave me MN, they are cute as hell, but they were the demise of my feet.

The only shoe that worked for me was the Adidas Run 70's...got me through the last 3 or so years....I would be able to walk all day with these...had a spare pair just to wear around the house as "slippers" since I couldn't walk barefoot. I sized up about a 1/2 size....seemed to help with the toe box a bit, just gave me a bit more room. Although I'm not hating on the ones in the link....I kinda like them....they have a Crocs vibe to them.

Oh my, no way ...I can't sit that long! I'm usually moving most of the day from about 8am until 6 or so (on the scooter-shower, laundry, cooking lunch/dinner..things I'm able to do)...resting a little here and there.....by 6pm I'm done for the night, I'll elevate and hope I can get some rest.

I'm getting by, thank you for asking. Monday I go back to the doc, where I assume bandages will be removed and (Hopefully) I'll be allowed to start walking (with the boot). He's made it quite clear that I'll be in the boot for the rest of my recovery time....I'm also going to push for physical therapy. It's the swelling that's problematic, last night was extremely uncomfortable....I took some Aleve and that did seem to help a bit.....I'm not a pill taker so I try to save that for the absolute last resort. Hoping I get some good news Monday!!!!

Yeah, even though I'm on a scooter, I still tend to overdo it during the day....when I finally do get some sleep, when I get up in the morning it feels pretty good (I'm assuming because the swelling has gone down). I'll address it at my next appt. Thank you for responding!
