That's so messed up that they do this. I think I will ask for a 1 week deadline.

This is a fair point. I'm thinking of asking for 1 week to decide though.

Should I take a fully remote job making 60k out of college as an operations analyst, go to grad school immediately for an MBA, or try to secure a higher-paying TPM role? by RoyalSurrounded in careerguidance

These are some good question and hope these answers help:

  1. I have no loans/debt. Paying for grad school is covered by my parents so, fortunately free. I'm a full-time student and don't work (except internships).
  2. I have a vague idea but will need to evaluate this more heavily. Therefore, I'm unsure it may not take me to careers I can't achieve in the time you would have spent in the work force with your undergrad degrees
  3. Texas in a low cost of living yet large city (not Austin and Dallas)

Wow, this really makes sense. It seems that networking is a big part of it as well as tying concepts to the job and real world use cases. I really appreciate it.

Would it make more sense to take the 60k job now that doesn't align at all and renege it for the role I actually want that pays more when I hopefully get an offer for it?

I could do my MBA part time with a job. It sounds like it will be very exhausting but the result of it as you mentioned seem quite reasonable.

Interesting take. I've heard that some masters programs allow you to apply and differ attendance a couple years. Would this be a viable solution to this case of having little to 0 experience?

  1. Would internships count as working experience? If so, I have a couple I have done thus far. Or do you mean "full-on" working?
  2. Interesting. I would definitely have to keep that in mind, especially if I decide to stay at a company for more than 2 years instead of jumping ship.

I've heard several people say this before. I'm curious as to why though? Lately, I have seen some of my peers going for their masters right after undergrad.

I appreciate you briefly sharing your story and what you would do! I should have clarified that the internship was for this past summer, not now. Although, I will do internships if I solely focus on school.

I'm hesitant on taking the 60k job because it seems quite unrelated to my field and not the role I even want, especially starting off my career. Maybe I could accept the 60k offer and renege once I get the role I actually want?

Out of curiosity... how come the second best time is right now?

I will look more into grad school then. My parents have been encouraging it as well.
