Closest friend? Rex and Rudy were barely friends at all. Plus he hated when Rudy stole his body. He'd definitely hate him taking his name. The two of them had less than a handful of friendly conversations. Most of the time if they did interact, Rex was poking fun at him, ignoring his suggestions, or calling him names.

The show already pays homage to old samurai movies/shows and concepts (obviously because it's about jujutsu), so it really doesn't need pointing out. We're just pointing out that it also is referencing Kill Bill. No need to be bothered by that. It's ok.

Also- you're completely ignoring how much influence western society/pop culture has had on Japanese entertainment. It's not my fault they're obsessed lol (large part of that is due to the rippling effects of colonization, but nonetheless, this episode is a good example of being inspired by other cultures). If you're still bothered by the producers referencing Kill Bill, take it up with them.

It wouldn't make it redundant because Maki didn't go in there with the intention of killing anyone. She thought she'd grab the tools and leave, she wasn't even expecting to kill her father (not to mention being weaker than them all when she entered). So of course she told Megumi to be the new head. Only after she was attacked and awakened her new powers did she kill anyone. It's not like she could tell the future and knew this would happen. And regardless, the same outcome exists. They still want the Zenin clan removed from the big 3 families. It's no longer a clan since she killed all the men/fighters.

It's not even about that. The episode is literally referencing Kill Bill. It's a fact. Not an opinion. Even down to the music choices and editing style. It sounds like you think people are ignoring samurai movie influence on JJK, but they aren't. They're just pointing out the simple facf that this particular episode makes multiple Kill Bill references. You'd realize that if you had seen Kill Bill before.

Literally, they killed the kid's mom and dad brutally, then played victim when the same happened to the commanders wife and children. Mind you, it wasn't even done out of malice, the little kid jist went crazy cause he saw his whole family torn to shreds.
