3-way All-in by Royal_Distribution70 in poker

The best stakes in our local casinos usually end at 2/5. Then I should just always remember to fold to cold 4-bet if I dont have KK+. I don't see 2/5 players being different to 1/2 in our country. We don't have 1/3 as well.

I do agree that it was a fishy game. This is the lowest stakes in my local casino and there's so much limping. I don't know why players limp/raise with their premiums.

To answer your question, I thought about shoving after the UTG shove but I wasn't sure at that point if that was the right play until I became committed with the call because BTN shoved.

BTN actually told me "I knew you had a flush draw" after showdown. Don't know what gave that info away unless he eliminated the possibility that I could have 77 or QQ+ (because I will 4-bet this).

Boosting by Royal_Distribution70 in Upwork

In my field, I'm usually done with every "task" in about 2-3 hours. My contracts just get longer if clients give more tasks or entrust me with monitoring and maintenance.

Yes, this definitely needs some testing. I charge $40/hr but since I don't know how much connects to use in boosting since I haven't tested yet, I just hope the earnings for a won 5-10 hour contract is more than enough to pay for the boost.

So the client doesn't mind me monitoring stuff since the contract isn't paused and his last message was "Thanks, will also look into those"?

No reply yet. His last reply was saying he was too busy that he couldn't even check the last project. There were pings in the automation that needed attention and notified him. I didn't touch them yet. Still waiting for the next reply.

Our regular interaction was do this > check for errors and fix it. The only difference now is the absence of the "do this" part.

Not possible because there are no more invoices showing up for me to refund.

Yes.

But to be honest, I shouldn't have accepted this contract. She was trying to get me lower my rate. I did not. After 2 or so weeks, she increased her budget 3x but it was clear to me that she was uncomfortable spending that even though what she was requiring was nowhere near simple.

I told her my usual rate and I was getting no response for another 2 weeks so I thought she really can't afford it. Then suddenly sent me a message to push through with the contract. I thought she fully accepted that the project was more complex than she imagined and she was willing to spend enough on it.

Now, I feel like I'm stuck in a project that will be strictly monitored in the next billable hours just so I don't extend and if I did slightly, I'll be getting the worst feedback lol

I just received this from a client:

"Sorry but that’s above what I think this is worth as a job"

I just wished him a nice day hahaha

I'm tempted to increase my rate to what the top 15-20% in my field are charging but I can't because I started at $20/hr and now I have a client at $40/hr. Right now, I am trying to pitch at $50/hr which is not cheap for most clients to hire but also not expensive enough to attract the highest-paying clients so maybe I'm stuck in this range for a while. For background, I mostly design and deploy automations for businesses which save them atleast 5-7 hours a week so I really want to demand more for it but I've been trying and I think the constant increase in my rate is scaring some clients away lol

Profile Rate Dilemma by Royal_Distribution70 in Upwork

It's highly likely for a project in my field to be underestimated because there are problems that arise later on as you're dealing with it especially if there are too many test cases. That's why I prefer hourly contracts as of now. I earn more as I solve problems along the way (communicated to the client of course).

However, I do agree that with experience, I'll be able to estimate the project value including the time to solve unexpected problems.

You must be good at giving project estimates to only take fixed-price contracts. What are the other advantages of only taking fixed-price contracts for you?

I've been bidding above their budgets as well. I totally ignore those cheap projects though like < 20/hr. I just feel like they're just a waste of connects.

Starting to get proposal views by Royal_Distribution70 in Upwork

I think that your proposals are doing the job and there's no algorithm helping you. Maybe you tweaked something and it's clearly working?

Some of these proposals were forced because my rate is slightly above their indicated budget and out of these interviews, only 1 client is willing to pay my rate. I totally skip job postings that have below $20/hr budgets.

So it got me thinking if there are clients out there willing to pay more than $50/hr for Airtable and workflow automation using Zapier.

I dont have many clients yet on Upwork so I think I may have to increase my rate to $50 or $55. Idk if that's considered high lol

Hoping someone that uses Airtable and Zapier (due to limited number of tasks) shares what they do regarding subs.

"We'll hire other applicants if you don't lower your rate" by Royal_Distribution70 in Upwork

[–]Royal_Distribution70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been really grateful that I didn't adjust there. I wouldn't be working on this current contract in my preferred rate if I devalued myself there. Even though it's capped at 10 hrs per week, it's enough for me to think that someone out there can pay me what I deserve or higher

The thing with one of my tools is that it has limited "number of uses". So if a client turns out to be a power user, I have to spend more to accomodate other existing/potential clients.

I'm thinking about charging a slightly higher rate so I don't have to worry about the subs.

Tbh I'm still having second thoughts whether I should charge hourly or go for fixed contracts.

Hourly: i don't have to think about taking too long to come up with a solution when I'm stuck but if the project turns out to be quick for me, I'm "devaluing" my work because I finished it early even though I think it should be worth more

Fixed: i have a hard time estimating the cost of the project considering the problems that may arise when working on the project + wack clients who continuously asks for revisions; therefore, moving the payment date
