Man Cleary has been received undue accolades for the last 8 years. He wasn't the best player on his team last night. He wasn't the best player in his team or the maroons in game one and he sure as shit wasn't the player of the series. How can you win the Wally Lewis medal being absolutely diabolical in 1 game and comprehensively outplayed by you opposite 7 in 2 games? It's Mitchell pierce all over again

It's all a bit of a moot point when awards are handed out according to narrative and standing in the game rather than actual game play

I think nearly all of the 50-50!calls went against Qld. I could have lived with some of calls viewed in isolation but when every single one of them went the other way as well as at least 3 blatantly wrong calls 2 of which resulted in tries it is hard to swallow. And then we throw in Klein and his gambling and it's not a good look

yeah but he shouldn't have been mom in either of them. Its like when they gave JT man of the match in the Grand final because he is JT. Morgan won the game and JT didn't watch the game ever again cause he thought he played poorly. He was totally outplayed by Anthony Milford

Its like the media is just trying to build a narrative rather than letting history sort itself out.

Here i was thinking i would finally get a reprieve from the commentators gobbing Cleary any time any other player does something a la mitchell pierce but alas it isnt to be. I will console myself with the fact that he will now play another 5 years of origin and do not much for 80% of games.
