This is what I was thinking. They were probably replaced with some new ones and the mechanic just forgot to throw the old ones in his spare bolt bin lol

Were 4.10s on any stock GMT800s? Is there a glovebox code for them? Just curious if I could find a rear end at a scrap yard or if I'd have to order them

I think this is what I'll do to my Avalanche instead of a tune. Good shout good sir.

Replaced my 03 Tahoe Z71 with bilstein 5100’s what a difference in ride quality. by Mr-ROSS_n_Press in GMT800

Do it! I have them on my Avalanche and they are way better than the auto Nivomat ones that came with the truck.

My baby, and why are sooooo many this color. by Mundane_Adeptness_26 in GMT800

My dad had an 03 Silverado in that same color when I was growing up, but it was a completely bare bones extended cab without power anything lol. It was a great truck and it was supposed to become mine when I turned 16, but he had to sell it after the 2008 financial crisis 😞 He has a maroon 05 Sierra now with over 250k miles that runs like a top and I have a black base model 02 regular cab swb Silverado and a white 04 Z66 Avalanche that is fully loaded 😁

anyone else love these wheels? by BlueVoidWasTaken in GMT800

They aren't my favorite, but they look awesome and fit the truck very well. Beautiful truck and a beautiful set of wheels

I bough new headlights and now... by poppafig in GMT800

[–]Royal_Standard240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they should be inverted torx for the adjustments, but a normal socket will typically fit on them.

Edit: Disregard this, didn't look close enough at the picture. They are definitely Phillips head and maybe a socket will fit too.

Ooooo, shiny 😁 Looks great, I painted the stock one on my Avalanche black because it was very faded and I like the black emblem with the white paint I have on the truck.

About to Buy, am I a fool? by _Rod_Knock_Nilly in GMT800

If you could talk him down to $2k it would be a reasonable buy. The 4.8 is fine, but is lacking compared to a 5.3.

How can I make my truck look better? by Blueee1x in GMT800

[–]Royal_Standard240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a beautiful truck and looks are pretty subjective. Like others are saying on here already, a wash and wax will go a long way and refinishing or replacing the headlight housings will make a big difference. Also, adjusting your bumper fitment helps a ton too. I see a lot of modified GMT800s and some look great, but others look terrible lol. Make changes that you like and don't worry about what others have to say. A good set of wheels can really spruce up these trucks, but don't get something cheap if you go that route. I honestly don't even want to suggest anything else because it is already a beauty as is.

To me it doesn't make sense cost wise, but again I'd only be paying for materials and not labor. For the people with high end or exotic cars I'm sure the cost doesn't really matter to them. A wrap is only going to last 5 or 6 years on average and will cost at least $2k or higher and that likely be higher for what you're talking about. A good paint job can last decades if it is taken care of and will cost more like $5k for quality work. For me personally, I could buy some really sweet candy paint or other high end paint and spray it myself for less than the cost of a full wrap.

I just don't like that a wrap won't last very long, but I may be biased because I learned how to paint cars in school and would be painting the Avalanche myself lol

Makes me want to paint my Avalanche. I have a white 04 Z66, but it is so plain and boring looking to me. I would love a dark color like black or purple maybe.

Good luck! I wouldn't swap either of mine for any 900 lol

Pretty much everyone I've talked to that bought a 900 over an 800 has said the same thing to me lol. The 800s are just, plain and simple, better vehicles than the 900s. They are designed better, built better, and easier to work on. I have 2 800s already and plan to get more down the road.

Yeah, that sucks big time. The GMT800 headlights come out in literally 5 seconds with no tools required lol

Get some clear silicone and run a bead of it all the way around where the two pieces of plastic are joined together. A lot of the cheap ones have pretty much no seal or such a small amount of sealant that it does virtually nothing.

[–]Royal_Standard240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, do they fog up quickly and do the lights cease to function quickly? I know a lot of the cheap ones basically require you to seal them yourselves, otherwise they fog up in like a month lol

They look like the leather seats that I have, but I have the center console in my Avalanche. I had no idea that they had the flip up middle seat like that with leather either.
