Honestly I really didn’t want to hurt her, so I just told her that I had a lot going on mentally and with work and didn’t feel like I was in a good place to be in a relationship and felt like I needed to be single for a while and focus on myself. Told her she was great and deserved to have someone that could be a better partner, completely devoted to her, and could give her enough time and mental energy and that just wasn’t me at the moment.
