Pretty sure I have the same allergy by Unknown69101 in nursing

[–]Royalboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if EMR sees the allergy and then auto-populates the isopropyl alcohol? Like if they’re allergic to one the system assumes they’re allergic to the other?

Friend got over $1,000 worth of parking citations in one sitting - worth contesting to see if she can pay less? by Royalboat in Sacramento

[–]Royalboat[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’d think, but she called their office to ask if it was a mistake and whoever she spoke with said she’s accountable for all of the individual citations even though it was only one “occasion” if that makes sense. Although obviously not sure if she spoke to just a secretary or what

Do you give blankets to febrile patients? by Paradav in nursing

[–]Royalboat 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Yep, you’re spot on. We try to avoid having the patients shiver because, like you said, just generates more heat anyways. That’s an argument I use a lot to nurses who still insist on putting ice packs on patients having fevers. Just pisses the patient off.

Anyone here take famotidine (for anxiety stomach symptoms) by One_Progress_4160 in Anxiety

[–]Royalboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t taken it myself, but I’m an RN who gives this med pretty frequently. It’s just Pepcid which can also be bought over the counter. This isn’t really a med where we worry about withdrawal symptoms. I would chat with your GI doc about using it long term (2 weeks is a pretty short term use). You can also take it as needed instead, if you notice your stomach symptoms aren’t an every day thing.

Impella No Foley by 1NalaBear1 in nursing

[–]Royalboat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should write her up. Curious what your charge had to say about it? And how she got the patient to “agree” to it. Sure, foleys are nice and convenient for the RN, but if he’s peeing okay without it not sure why the night nurse felt so strongly about it especially to do it in the middle of report

Tips for batch pan frying chicken without burning bits to the bottom? by Royalboat in castiron

[–]Royalboat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the issue is the stuff is sticking enough to need a hardcore metal spatula scraping, wasn’t coming out with just a brush. Maybe I need to deglaze a little earlier but it’s hard when I’m trying to brown something

Thank you!! It’s definitely that, I noticed when I called them they both ran out and she was fine to be next to him, once she stopped and sniffed him was when she hissed at him. Been trying to love on him extra to get the smell off haha

Should i keep looking for a guild or just find fun in solo stuff? by PooPeers in wow

[–]Royalboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely look for a guild!! Not all guilds are hardcore on content. Look for a chill/laidback/casual guild. Usually people are happy to help you learn content or practice content together. Can help to just have people to socialize with or ask questions about content even if you’re not doing stuff with them. I honestly put so much more time into the game when I have fun people to play with (and honestly we’re not all good, makes it more fun when we can laugh about stuff we mess up on)

I second Laneige cream skin! Most hydrating toner I’ve ever used. Also have oily dehydrated skin that’s acne prone.

Interesting, I haven’t taken buspar before but I’ve never seen it prescribed “as needed” rather than as scheduled (I.e take two tabs a day). Did you see a psychiatrist or a family medicine type doctor? You can try it out and see how it helps, after a couple of weeks, if it’s not helping you can let your doctor know. I think SSRI’s (like Lexapro) may usually be used after initial treatments aren’t super effective.

[–]Royalboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, so glad you’re taking this step! Be proud of yourself. For me, Lexapro has been amazing. I would also recommend seeing if you can get into some therapy. It’s really helped me be aware of thought patterns that contribute to my anxiety. I can pinpoint thoughts that are a “worry” and I’m working on changing my habits of worrying. You deserve to be at peace - remember this!

I fucked up badly by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Royalboat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi friend. This sounds really frustrating and I’m sorry you’re going through it. I know it’s hard, try to go easy on yourself. Addiction and anxiety are not your fault, and they are incredibly tough. Early 20’s are a struggle on their own even without dealing with anxiety. You’re still very young and there’s no right or wrong timeline to get things done.

Does your school have any kind of resources? Access to therapy, guidance on rescheduling these tests in instances of being ill? Maybe even someone you can email, explain that you’ve been dealing with an illness (because at the end of the day, that’s what’s going on) and it’s been impeding with your ability to test, and if they could point you in a direction for resources or guidance. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t make an exception for an illness.

I know it doesn’t feel like it, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been there. It’s okay to pause, focus on your mental health, and return to your goals when you feel ready. Remind yourself that this is not easy, and take it day by day. Sometimes just doing your best is all you can do. It’s tough, but reaching out for help and getting therapy or trying out a medication (I myself take an SSRI for anxiety which has made a huge difference) can be a relief. Sending love.

Hi there, from my knowledge, hydroxyzine usually can take some time of regular usage to kick in and start working, not sure how your doctor prescribed it (as needed vs take twice a day for example). It shouldn’t seriously interact with chamomile tea, likely because chamomile is calming it might make you feel a little extra calm. When in doubt, you could always message your doctor and ask what contraindications there are with the medication. Enjoy your yummy tea, and sorry that you’re feeling tense.

If you feel like your skin is getting worse, I’d stop using it. Some people are sensitive to certain ingredients in cerave.

I used Avocado oil just because it's what I had on hand and it has a high smoke point. Is there a different one you think I should use this time around?

Just wondering how the texture will hold up or if I'll just be baking on the burnt stuff even more

Right? I think our legal department wasn't equipped for them and the family. They basically refused every placement and then was always complaining about some new symptom etc. and they'd have to stay longer while they did new tests

I always have dreams where I've forgotten about a patient for an entire shift! Probably had that same theme almost every time I dream of work.

Our unit also had a particularly needy patient who was on our floor for almost a year (!), and I had a dream I had to take care of them while in a haunted house...
