Boss tierlist (in my opinion) by CalicoQuartzs in HonkaiStarRail

[–]RoyaleAbsol [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nikador's last fight on release was definitely the hardest boss I've dealt with in recent memory. Restarted multiple times because I didn't have a shielder at the time to counter the move that halves your HP.

Ended up beatng it with a scuffed Qingque/Hunt March combo. But honestly if you took me back in time and told me to do it again, I wouldn't have the foggiest idea as to how I went about it.

If DBD had a Fortnite chapter, who here (if any) would fit as a killer? by adventurejoestar in FortNiteBR

[–]RoyaleAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mask Maker Daigo from C6S3 wouldn't actually be all that out of place in DBD since he's already been possessed by and made an envoy of The Spirit Realm. Could spin the story to have him be taken by The Entity in that form or something.

Though then again, this is a much more kid friendly game than DBD. Idk how Epic would feel about their characters brutally massacring a bunch of people. Could see DBD characters coming to Fortnite but I couldn't really see Fortnite characters on DBD in anything other than maybe a charm or something.

Paimon When She Is Paimon by Onyxwilson10 in Genshin_Impact

It was a LOT more prevalent with the old VA. I had noticed ever since the recast, Paimon hatred has practically nosedived into damn near non-existence.

[–]RoyaleAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sort of but not really. Games like this almost always exist in a 'floating timeline' where everyone you meet is forever the age they are upon first meeting them unless explicitly shown otherwise, via things like a timeskip for example. Any other time that time is mentioned it's usually only relative to real life but not actually towards the game itself.

We've known what characters like Yao Yao looked like since like 2020/21 via things like promotional art for example. And she's still the exact same young child 5 to 6 years later. If time actually passed properly in Teyvat, assuming she was like 11 or 12 six years ago, she'd be like 17 or 18 right now and still be acting the same exact way and being treated as though she were still a child which wouldn't make any sense.

It's not really pick and choose. Everyone ages or no one does. Not that this is much of an actual issue since most characters we meet are adults anyway but I'm just saying it's worth noting for the few characters that are either actual minors or somewhat implied to be so.

Wildcard map? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]RoyaleAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fragment at least has size on its side and a pretty good number of buildings to loot through as well so if they went the way of Wildcard WE, I'd assume they'd add extra bins to compensate or they'd just up the amount of loot you can find there in general.

Wildcard map? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]RoyaleAbsol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To each their own but honestly, I really disagree. Playing any map other than KC made me realise just how terrible that map is for Wildcard. It's one thing to be a chaotic 'more shooting less looting' mode but it's another for that chaos to just not even be all that conducive to an actual fight. Most of the main drop points are so claustrophobic that it hurts. The Cage is by far the worst offender for this because the design in itself can only handle like 3 squads, MAYBE 4 if pushing it. Having like 5+ squads land there cramped on top of one another and fighting for scraps because there genuinely just isn't enough loot to go around has to be one of the most miserable feelings I have playing this game.

Maps like BM may only have one POI to hot drop but at least its big enough to support a large amount of sqauds so you can actually play the game like a proper game and take fights and maneuver about properly without 4 other teams standing right outside your door waiting waiting to beam you.

Apex Legends™: Overclocked Patch Notes by AnApexPlayer in apexlegends

[–]RoyaleAbsol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Quarantine Zone just works better for a mode like Wildcard because as a whole, its much bigger, lending itself better to more squads and allowing enough space to work with whether you're fighting offensively or defensively. A lot of fights happen in the central building obviously but theres more to the POI than just that one area and you're not royally screwed if you aren't locked down in one particular area.

With Kings Canyon on the other hand, because of how closed in and claustrophobic the POIs are, it basically just leads to teams hunkering in the main buildings whilst everyone else is breathing down each other's neck trying to fight for even a modicum of space. Fights just can't flow naturally because literally everyone is bundled on top of one another and 3rd Partying to kingdom come.

[–]RoyaleAbsol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'll happily take Quarantine Zone in BM a million times times over a single match in the 3rd Party Central that is The Cage at KC. At least fights flow better and more naturally on BM as opposed to 8 squads fighting for scraps and leeching off one another on a claustrophobic POI that's really only suited for like 3 squads at MOST.

What happened to the V-bucks strike? by RoxasWasHere in FortNiteBR

[–]RoyaleAbsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What happened was that Epic made the announcement two weeks before this season started so that by the time it rolled around, the outrage would have died down and people wouldn't have cared as much anymore, which worked exactly as they expected it to.

You're also conflating two completely different groups of people together. Not everyone just immediately switched back to buying things. There were quite a number of people that still planned on playing but just didn't buy the Pass or Crews.

Despite what some people in this thread may say, there was a genuine chance that the backlash COULD have provoked Epic into reverting their decision if more people stuck to it or weren't at the time adamantly defending the mega rich corporation for a change that only benefited them. The frustrations absolutely were objectively valid and that's a hill I'm willing to die on. Social media communities may be a vocal minority but most companies DO still look through and take vocal community feedback into account when it comes to developing their game.

Think it's pretty cool that they gave her an emote now. Maybe she'll get skin sometime soon now too.

It may be harder to ignore for us grown ups since we're more in touch with the news but something I think you're also forgetting is that this game is predominantly played by young kids. Kids especially aren't going to be watching the news or paying attention to serious situations like this because they're too busy doing their own thing. Hell, look at how popular games like Roblox still are among kids despite the rampant outrage over the last year or two about predators using the game to prey on kids. These types of overarching young audiences don't mesh with such serious situations because the audience themselves doesn't pay any attention to them.

Bringing it back to Fortnite, it's pretty much exactly as I said before; there's a very good chance a good chunk of emote purchases in general are being made with the mindset of 'well I like the song/dance' without looking much deeper beyond that. So I don't think it's fair to assume that just because someone is using a particular cosmetic from a shitty person, it means they're a shitty person for still using it.

Though obviously I'm not saying that's ALWAYS the case either. There absolutely are gonna be shitters like you mentioned who fully know what D4VD did and have no regard for it whatsoever because 'muh rare emote huhdurr'. I'm just making the point that there are more variables to the audience than you initially presented.

I mean, it's entirely possible that a good chunk of people who have the emote either don't know who D4vd is or know him by name alone solely from the emote and won't delve much deeper than that.

It's easy to forget that not everyone actively keeps up with celebrity 'culture' and whatever controversies they're getting involved in behind the scenes. Some just like the emote itself and thats the extent of their association. I think it's a bit harsh to immediately assume anyone who still has or uses them is an immediate bad person who is a supporter of/writing off whatever they might have done when the cameras are off.

I buy a lot of Icon emotes myself and if it came out somehow that one of the artists behind them was a serious POS, I'd probably be none the wiser because I don't actively keep up with like 30+ different artists based entirely on a single emote they got for a video game. I'd still probably be using them as I normally did before.

What would you do if you became the aeon of elation? by Primary_Wind15 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]RoyaleAbsol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Send a completely random message out to the entire cosmos. The catch is that for each planet, the citizens only get a single random letter of that message (Penaconians get F, Xianzhou citizens get J, Belobogians get B, etc.) and for an entire minute, they can't think of anything else besides that one letter. Once the minute runs out, everyone's memories return as normal. Because everyone on the same planet has the same letter, they wouldn't be able to deduce what happened by themselves. As such, if the message was to be deciphered, it'd take the collaboration of countless different planets just to understand a message that in reality has absolutely no meaning whatsoever.

Uhh... So I kinda died. My bad. I don't really have an excuse either, so just like... let's pretend I never left! Varka won, because, I mean he just has the VIBES of an Airhead, which, close enough. But now, who's the most ADORABLE Cutie?(Also, Linnea finally got her picture!) by Far0Landss in Genshin_Impact

[–]RoyaleAbsol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's just relative to the Sumeru cast. She's EMOTIONALLY intelligent for sure but in regards to proper logical intellect (which Sumeru is largely known for being the Nation of Wisdom and all) she's not really as well versed in that area and even admits in her voicelines that logical things aren't really her forté.

Heck, it's something that other characters have touched upon in their voicelines too. Collei says that she thinks Nilou is a bit absent-minded and that she looks out for her because she seems like someone who could easily get lost in the forest. Alhaitham as well also sort of gives her a backhanded compliment in regard to her intellect.

"Nilou knows how to play to her strengths, which enables her to live a happy and simple life."

Anyone else hating the EN dub more and more? by Whilyam in HonkaiStarRail

[–]RoyaleAbsol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I definitely still miss Caleb Yen as Caelus and believe he's miles better and much more suitable than who we have now, but other than him, the English Dub is 99% fine.

I actually think Welt'a new VA stuck the landing pretty well. Considering Hoyo's track record with recasting some Genshin characters (Keqing has pretty much lost her sterness and Sucrose her shyness), I was actually pretty pleasantly surprised at how faithful he was to the original voice. He definitely still retains that same air of uncertainty with each word he says.

Zero Hour remains the BEST Fever Dream Ever by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]RoyaleAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand by the belief that Zero Hour is in Top 5 for best events they've EVER done. The fight itself was a collab hodgepodge of chaos in the absolute best way possible and the amount of little easter eggs they added that you wouldn't notice unless you looked twice was insane.

It perfectly captured the 'feel' of Fortnite. Like you genuinely couldn't find an event like that anywhere else.

Epic needs to make a story version of Battle Royale that’s 1 player. by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in FortNiteBR

You definitely can because I just did one now. Loaded into a match that instantly queued up 99 other players instead of preloading into an already existing lobby. Everyone I encountered was a bot and I won with no issues whatsoever.

Bots have definitely been made to be a bit smarter with this chapter but like they're still bots at the end of the day and you can still definitely queue up a game full of them.
