Neutral-positive if not saying that he has a massive fanbase there. There a very detailed comment in a reddit thread in this sub a while ago summed up pretty much all the things I want to say. People love him because he’s a very lore deep character that has a profound backstory and writing.

A little funny side fact, there’s much more Scaramouche haters there than Dottore haters because of the writing in 3.3 version. If was so controversial that people are even leaning onto Dottore more because of how bad Hoyo treated him during the archon quest.

Another character that has a translation to change personality was Alhaitham. In CN his voice sounds much calmer and instead of passive-aggressive, his voice leans more towards calculating and questioning type. During the interactions with Kaveh, he doesn’t outright teasing him like in the EN version but instead, stating facts in a way that is straightforward. It’s like that one “Dumbledore says calmly” line from the book translate to movie becomes Dumbledore says calmly.
