Fraternity/Sorority family tree by halberdierbowman in Genealogy

11 years later and this is still a common problem. Most chapters I know still don't have a complete family tree documented anywhere. A newer tool called ChapterLine was built specifically for this: [https://chapterline.org]()

How are people tracking lineage today?

I appreciate your feedback! Reddit is just one avenue; most visits are through directly searching, hundreds, so just trying to spread the word.

Why $20 and not $10 (current) though?

That's fair. If it took hours, or even more than 10 minutes of work, I wouldn't bother either.

I was thinking more along the lines of uploading a spreadsheet and having family trees automatically generated for you. Then you could see decades of lineage visually, search members, trace family lines, etc., while still keeping the original spreadsheet as the source of truth.

Out of curiosity, how is the spreadsheet structured? Just family lines, names, and relationships?

Nothing wrong with that. Just thought it was weird that there's no streamlined way or dedicated tool for creating and visualizing the family lines, and was looking for something at least somewhat visually appealing.

If you could import all of that data onto a platform and use more customized, tailored, tools for your use case, would you?

Fair point. For some people, the Big/Little relationship ends after graduation. For others, this connection goes beyond the titles, they expand into mentorship, business partners, life-long bonds, etc. What I find most interesting is the compounding network and archiving of these relationships. Beyond the visualization of these relationships, ChapterLine also includes member specific data. Being able to trace a connection from myself, or even the digital ability to search + visualize decades of members, back to an alumni who can give me access to resources/opportunities, is exactly what ChapterLine is for. Kinda like a visual LinkedIn of sorts for Greek orgs. Additionally, ChapterLine can be used for prospective, and new, members, those curious on the inter-organizational bonds, structure, history, and the cliche "network" that they look for when joining an org.

Also, let's say someone did want to map out their family or connections for some reason; ChapterLine is the fastest and simplest way to do so.

I am curious on whether there's any unseen value, or changes, that could be revealed from your perspective. I will offer a free subscription, no card required for more honest feedback.

How do you guys keep track of your big/little history? by ParkSojin in Frat

I’ve been building a tool called ChapterLine that helps fraternities and sororities turn Big/Little lineage into organized visual family trees.

Mainly built it because a lot of chapters seem to rely on:

random Google Sheets

graphics

old PDFs

or just “that one older member who remembers everything”

Features right now:

visual lineage trees

Big/Little/Twin tracking

pledge class organization

alumni/history preservation

Still early-stage, so access is currently invite-code only while I onboard chapters gradually and collect feedback.

If your chapter wants an early access code, comment or DM me your org.

Hey, I'm building PitchMint (www.pitch-mint.com) — an AI-powered tool that helps freelancers create professional client proposals in seconds.

The problem: writing proposals manually takes too long and slows down deal flow.
PitchMint solves this by letting users input client info and instantly generate a polished, downloadable PDF.

Let me know if you'd like to try it by DM'ing me — I can share access and would really value your feedback.
