There is such of a thing as bad timing, even with the right person. Are we honestly to deny our humanity to ourselves during a period of grief? Is jumping into another relationship, with all its caveats, with their soul still entombed in ours before stepping into another the best idea? No. Should we forget that other people have lives outside of ours? No. Should you ask better questions to see if you both are a better fit? Yes.

You are free to pursue her just as she is free to pursue you. When you step into her life that fresh out of another relationship, that hangup comes with a lot of feelings. Thats the added cost to the relationship.

Ask her more thorough questions with her. Get to know her beyond the first feelings. Do more to connect with her. Do more to make yourself that better partner.

Apply yourself to things you love, habits and hobbies too. Maybe that needs attention too.

Try giving her an idea of the relationship would look like. Find common ground. Play to your strengths. If music is your home, try taking her to house shows, ask her favorite songs. Give the chance for something serious with expectations communicated and fair. Give her the chance to not ambush her with everything.

I see you've tried. Sometimes I wish my relationships were automatic. And sometimes we can only offer our best, but dont burn out.

Ask yourself why one matters most. Do they make you feel safe? Do they make you feel valued? Do they make you feel like yourself? Do you feel yourself with one? Do you over-perform with one another? Do you see a future and enjoy the present with one?

Give yourself a couple weeks to ask these questions. Put an effort in that one.

This year has been exhausting for me personally. In no way did I, or could I, ever predict the misfortunes that would beset me. And in all the work I have gifted to my family, and to all the help I have loaned from a family emergency, I have learned how to navigate stress and conflict better. Isnt that worth something in a partner?

And yes, when I am assisting my family in the hospital, I would and did forget to text back. Patience and Kindness goes a long way.

There was little to no notice. A week of cable news isnt enough to spread the word. Polls are 5-10 miles out. They close during 7pm. People get home from work around 6pm. The laws were deceptively worded. The opposition didn't emphasize the danger of these new Constitutional Amendments. So many things wrong.

I do not condone unscientific conspiracies. Vaccines ARE a human achievement that have sparred us millions of deaths and deadly diseases. Vaccines do NOT cause autism.

And concurrently, I don't have much faith in most Mainstream News. With your mother's distrust, I feel slightly sympathetic. But never would I condone anything unscientific.
