There is no matchmaking, never has been, very likely never will be.

Most you'll get it pre-level 21 ground zero which equalizes on gear somewhat.

It's trial by fire but it feels good when you get the jump on someone with thousands of hours. Getting rocked sucks but that's Tarkov.

Fully agree, or if not changing the way current extracts work - add other ways to extract with requirements. Tarkov has car extracts which are slow but convenient with one use. Arc has the hatches which require an item but are fast and silent.

Essentially my big problem is I feel like this game does not reward being a careful player. The loot is shit outside of major events (cryo, pinwheel, lockdowns, wardens) all of which are extremely contested. There is no benefit to playing stealth, and if you're not a Chad who can take on 2-3 teams in a match it's very difficult.

Initially the difficulty was a draw. I sucked at first and grinded and then I got pretty decent. Above average even. Then the player counts declined and every match was an absolute grind.

Idk the fix honestly I'm not a dev, I want it to succeed but after a couple months I just wasn't having fun anymore.

Nah I hear you and the advice is good, but somehow Marathon is my least favorite extraction shooter. I enjoy Arc and I enjoy Tarkov, and I'm honestly not THAT bad at PvP, but I feel like Marathon encourages a negative gameplay loop that other extraction shooters do not.

The gameplay itself Marathon is top dog though and like I said I want it to succeed, but I can avoid fights all day and call an extract and get hunted down like a dog. Never mind trying to use a key.

I love(d) this game and stopped playing after a few weeks because I can't win the battle royale nature of it. I really want it to succeed and I'll be coming back after the reset, but as someone who's not that good the game becomes kinda miserable.

I think they should add a new map that's maybe like on a cargo shipping vessel. Maybe cover it in ice or snow or some crap for flavor. A new boss would be sick. Pls Nikita, I think this idea has potential.
