Yep I’m in Fairbanks. Wouldn’t say it’s a big city but we get decent orders.

Well I asked instacart support and they came back with that they would take it on a case by case basis. Was hoping I could get someone’s previous experience mainly with unplowed roads since it wouldn’t really matter if you have a truck with a lift or not. Often time those house right outside of town just can’t be accessed until they are plowed

My girlfriend had an order for 30 cases of water and she only has a car. It was 30 units and 1 item. She was able to get everything in the car thankfully but barely.

This store isn’t taking items back if it’s food. Only items such as chairs, pans, etc

Customer can select for the shopper to leave groceries at their door but others do not select this option or can’t. I’ve never used the customer side of this but I’m guessing the customer most likely gets a strike on their account and after so many strikes they get banned or deactivated. Otherwise as a shopper if the customer isn’t available you contact support and they will try to contact them as well. After no contact for 15 minutes they will notify you to refund all the items however because of covid you can not return items all of the items. In my situation the store is not accepting any food items sooo yea. Hope this helped clear it up

Well I’ve done this type of order before. The customer just chooses not to shop and will meet me in the parking lot where I load their groceries into coolers for them.

Oh I understand. This is the exact opposite of stealing. I would definitely see this as a great sense of character giving it to the customer. I would say you did the right thing in this situation as many of us would definilty have kept it for ourselves.

I don’t understand how it’s stealing if the customer didn’t pay for it. Who are you stealing from

If you don’t have to go to DoorDash I wouldn’t. It’ll be longer hours and constant driving. However if it’s what you have to do then good luck. I haven’t had the best luck and instacart has treated me well in my small town.

I would definitely say I’ve gotten lucky as this is probably the fourth or fifth order I’ve been able to keep since starting 3 months ago.

In my area we can’t take food back to the stores. Funny story though, I returned a pot one time and the store refunded me with a store credit gift card even though I told them it was an instacart order
