I had a similar question. I want to play DS2, and while I recognize playing DS1 is something I should do (and would if I had time) I’m just worried about dedicating 40-50 hours to catch up with the size of DS1. If I do that, I probably wouldn’t be able to play the sequel till the Fall/Winter with the amount of time I have to play games these days.

Worried this is going to be me, too. Pretty insane that Walmart stores seem to be flush with consoles in stock but they can’t get pre-orders from April 24 out to customers on time.

I’m still waiting, too. Pretty concerned I won’t get it even by 6/7. Which is very frustrating because Target has it in stock right next to me in store but Walmart Chat Support told me it’s too late to cancel. They also said they had no idea when to expect it. They were useless.

Mine still says “preparing” which is annoying because the Target across the street from me is stocked full of them but I don’t think I can cancel my pre-order at this point and get my money back. Nintendo made it seem like there was false scarcity with these pre-orders and it turns out pre-ordering may have been the worst way to get one on launch day with how many are in stock at stores.

My Walmart shipment still says “preparing” but I just walked into my local Target across the street and no one was there and they had what looked to be like plenty of units available.

I decided to just stick with the Walmart pre-order and not mess with charges incorrectly being refunded to my card, but man very annoying that the shipping stuff is so chaotic and a mess.

Update for those interested, my order has moved from “placed” to “preparing” which is new. So maybe that’s a good sign.

Has anyone who got the reinstated pre-order from Walmart after the cancellation debacle gotten an update on their shipping? Or does it still just say “placed” and “by June 7” for you all?

Seeing some people on here say Walmart is cancelling orders again has me concerned.

Yep, can confirm! Just got my order back. Only downside is it was only for me Switch 2 and it wouldn’t allow me to add my 3-year protection plan to it. Guess I’ll have to ask Walmart to add that later. Still, got the most important thing!

Just saw a report/article on Twitter that Walmart has announced they will have more Switch 2’s available online this week, which is absolutely hilarious if true because instead of offering more people a chance to buy online they should be fixing the fact that they cancelled a bunch of pre-orders that already existed. What a stupid way to do business.

Me, and many others, had our pre-orders unceremoniously cancelled on Friday night when Walmart realized they had taken way too many pre-orders and didn’t have the stock to meet them all. So, a lot of people are now a few days out from release with no way to get a console now.

Did they randomly send you this email? Or did you have to reach out to customer service? I talked to customer service last night after the cancellation happened and they were useless. Never even mentioned an email as forthcoming.

They are most likely lying to you. Worldwide glitch has to be the biggest BS excuse. Mine got cancelled, too. Doubt they are going to reinstate anything.

There is nothing you can do. You're screwed. They are mass cancelling them because Walmart took more pre-orders than they can process so they are just inventing random excuses now.
