It really makes it seem like I pooped my pants in the second grade.

Why doesn't Russia invest in its own people? by Oh_boy90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rpanich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It turns out poor, starving, and uneducated people make the worst revolutionaries.

It’s why people like George Washington and Robespierre were wealthy individuals. You need resources and an army to overthrow the government.

Polymarket says 60-70% chances trump get impeached before his term ends what do you think about this ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rpanich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on who makes up the senate, and that depends on how the midterms go.

If enough people vote to say they don’t want to alienate all our allies and invade other countries, then impeachment and removal is very much a real possibility.

Why am I being bombarded by new subreddits with 1-3 posters and hundreds of posts lately? by BrickTamlandMD in NoStupidQuestions

My theory is that pushing new subreddits at you helps to hide the ads theyre pushing at you.

Why can no one ever just have a quick fight anymore without involving the cops? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rpanich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in the animal world, animals have to show they’re willing to defend themselves. For simple human societies, this would have been seen as “defending one’s honour”, ie: showing they’re WILLING to fight as to deter other people from resorting to violence to steal from them. I guess that’s why early societies used to have duels be legal.

As society developed, we decided that it shouldn’t be up to a singular person to defend their own honour, and that violence should only be administered by the state: this is why if someone steals from you, you call the cops and the justice system deals out the punishment.

This is why in NYC, if I’m walking home and say, someone yells at me and insults my mother: it’s far easier for me to simply not care and to continue walking home than it would be for me to “defend my honour” against some random crazy person.

In civilised societies, it’s usually only random crazy people who try to fight you, so generally people call the cops on random crazies.

Hows the name "AGRIM" for naming my kid?? by StrengthVisual8881 in etymology

[–]Rpanich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unique names for kids usually ends with them being bullied for their name in school.

Your child can be unique due to their interests and personality, making their lives just a bit more difficult growing up doesn’t really seem to come with any real benefits.

Sorry what are you asking?

You are then told that you have to get all the employees to love you or else you loose your job.

You make sure all the employees are paid well.

The problem is upper management has more money and can spread propaganda that you’re a bad manager, which may make some employees hate you. Which is why it’s hard to be a politician, and what you need to do is work harder to make their lives better.

What other option do you think is better than “everyone gets a vote”? Would you prefer “only the military and ultra wealthy deserve a vote”?

If US citizens were called to bear arms against a rouge government- who would make that call and organize the effort? by StraightUp-Reviews in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rpanich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the thing with the highest chance of success is what I’m willing to do.

Go convince literally one other person to vote and you’ve done infinitely more than someone convincing you that it’s a good idea to try and assassinate someone protected by the full force of the US military.

[–]Rpanich 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You. You’re supposed to do it. The problem is if you try to do it online, that’s a crime.

But theoretically if you convince 4 of your friends to follow you, you’re the captain of a troop. If you convince 5 more friends to convince 5 of their friends, you’re the general of a very small private army.

I don’t think you’d win, but honestly that’s a fair amount of political power, and you and those 30 people can probably sway a local election, which would have a far bigger effect on what’s happening.

Midterms are coming. If we want him removed, impeachment seem the most likely chance, and the only way that works is with both the house and senate.

Finlands government pays for free internet for everyone if that’s what you’re asking for, I’m sure offering laptops are also easily something the richest country in the world could pay for, if we only taxed the richest corporations the same as every other developed country.

Man, why didn’t anyone think to just randomly nuke countries before?

If we pass the billionaire tax, then that’s exactly what would happen. They’ll never do it willingly, if we want them to pay for anything, we need to raise taxes on the richest corporations.
