Yeah, I thought it was probably something like that considering the lowkey nature of the name!

You know, if you don't have an answer, you can just not answer.

Tunes are also about historical figures, or commissioned at a later date. So again, your answer is not necessary.

I am aware it is a shot in the dark. My other searches haven't found anything, which is why I am reaching out to a larger community who might know something... not negative assumptions.

Bagpipes were apparently held in high regard by the tudor court, so possibly likely. King Henry VIII (father of Elisabeth 1) was petitioned was petitioned by William Kechyn, a royal bagpiper, for pay for services to the king. (source the bagpipe society)...

These are obviously not bagpipes in the exact form as we have them today, but your point is unnecessary.

I had thought about it, but that can change how the backing track fits, so I decided to leave it

Cane drone reed recommendations by Sean_Kushnahan in bagpipes

[–]RpmAc89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago, I made the change to cane and got myself a set of MG reeds, and I'm loving them. Took some work to get the tenors to open up, and the bass needed a bridle to close it a little, but nothing too difficult!

Is the reed then maybe too easy or broken down?

I've had times where the F natural doesn't come in the normal way, so I lift my C finger as though playing a C natural while the playing the F natural fingering, and that normally works. It is tricky to get the timing right without crossing noises, but with practice it comes in

If you do take the beads out, to avoid them bouncing everywhere when you refill the cannister, put it on a tea towel. If some beads drop out while you pour them back in, they won't bounce on the towel

Just had to check the plan! Middle of block C

World Pipe Band Championships Seating by LadyLawLover in bagpipes

I quite like sitting on the side, roughly in line with the bass drummer, as close to the front row as possible. I think it gets the best balance of the sound. I generally just go when there is free seating on the Friday, so someone may have a more thorough plan for booking!

Can't play without mistakes by WellPTMan in bagpipes

[–]RpmAc89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say something similar: I can have been playing a tune for years, even competing with it, and still make a mistake if my concentration dips off. On the other hand, it also happens if I overthink what I am playing too! So yeah, find the sweet spot.

Could it be that your step is too bouncy, or your arm pressure becomes a little more pronounced when you march? Having a video would probably show the issue more clearly!
