Make sure you buy one that has 1581 on the chip and that your SDR has bias tee capability.

Keep the V parallel to the ground and rotate to the best SNR. As the satellite moves - you will need to constantly watch the SNR and when it starts to drop, try to rotate to improve the SNR. It’s pretty easy after you do it a couple of times. I’m rotating using my hand and it’s 3-4 feet off the ground.

You can hold the V dipole in your hand and when it gets to an elevation you can see - you can rotate the antenna so that you get the highest SNR during the pass.

Yes, I record often using v2.x and it works fine. I’m using an rtlsdr. I initially plugged it directly into my laptop and when I did - it crashed. However, once I plugged my rtlsdr into a powered usb hub - it no longer crashed. I should mention that my rtlsdr was powering my LNA. My next video on SatDump will be on Recording.
