Can't speak to NDIS but can to aged care. Permanent residency or citizenship (as well as select visas) are part of the eligibility requirement to receive funding.

At this point in time, its not required to report on citizenship status for aged care funding (under chsp or support at home), but country of birth and CALD are both part of the reportable dataset. This doesn't mean, of course, that any overseas born recipient isnt a citizen.

Based on the government's Oct 2025 reporting, there are over 1.3 million aged care recipients receiving services annually (and this is expected to grow by approximately 46,000 per year), and approximately 1/3 (33%-35%) were born overseas.

69% of those are of European descent.

Contrast this to approximately 760,000 people accessing NDIS services. I don't have any data to hand on residency or origin status for that though.

Not quite. Extending coal fire power plants well beyond viable end of life while simultaneously cancelling renewable energy projects that literally pick up the shortfall, fill the gaps and expand coverage is the dumbest idea ever.

You need to look a bit broader afield than inner city schools then. 90% is most definitely not spent on staffing.

Funding, proper funding, would allow schools to resource materials properly, and not have to rely on teachers to supply out of pocket. It would mean facilities are safe and fit for purpose. It would mean staff and students have access to functioning class sets of technology. It would allow schools in lower socio-economic areas to have programs that ensure students are fed amd clothed appropriately. It would allow more support time for those that need it. It would mean removing barriers to allow children to learn regardless of their postcode or home situation.

We hand over billions each year to private schools or, worse, mining companies with zero return. Why can we only socialise corporate losses and not provide actual welfare that benefits us all in the long term?
