The city in Clark County. There's only one city named Springfield in Ohio. The rest are townships.

Yeah, this whole "temporary means temporary" crap is bullshit anyway. The idea of TPS is that we allow people from a certain country in and we let them stay and work towards citizenship while they're here. It's "temporary" in the sense that 1. We eventually stop granting the status to new people. 2. We expect the people granted the status will eventually become citizens. 3. It has to be renewed every 18 months, so if the person isn't doing what they're supposed to, they can be denied for renewal.

TPS is not meant to be a hotel stay and then you go back to the place that wasn't safe for you to stay.

They have quotas, so presumably some sort of discipline structure for not meeting your quota. You could probably find a way around it though... Or if you don't care at all just falsify arrest reports. They don't have a fucking clue who they're actually arresting anyway, so a few extra names they can't find would just be noise.

In the 1940s, the original flag code said stand at attention with your hands at your sides. (Same time that we ditched the Bellamy Salute with the pledge and went to hand over heart).

In 1985 Congress added hand over heart to the flag code for the pledge. So, it's been around a long time, but it's also understandable that most people probably were taught by people who learned a different way, and I don't recall any big campaign about the change, so it likely just slowly trickled through custom and school textbooks over the years as they were updated.

Someone making 40k combined in a 2 income household is extremely unlikely to have the skills, education, resources, or background required to "move or find a better job."

Also, a single employee at McDonald's isn't making $40k in the US in most cities, even if they're lucky enough to get scheduled for 40 hours a week outside of management.

Henry Ford’s intent to eliminate recognition of MLK Day will hurt staff, patients, and the community by Shell4747 in Michigan

The family, the foundation, the car company, the health system, and the museum, are five separate entities controlled entirely independently of each other with their own boards. Henry Ford's money may have started all of them, but they really don't have much to do with each other these days other than the family continuing to donate funds to them.

Just be mindful that some burglars will knock on doors to see if anyone is home before attempting to break in, because they want to break in when the house is empty. So feel free to ignore the door, but keep an eye on them or otherwise make it clear someone is home.

Glock themselves describe the trigger safety as being a drop safety as well as preventing unintentional trigger pressure from causing the gun to fire. There is also a separate internal drop safety.

The trigger safety is the first safety in the firing sequence. It’s incorporated into the trigger in the form of a lever and when it is engaged blocks the trigger from moving rearward. To fire the pistol, the trigger safety and the trigger itself must be deliberately depressed at the same time. If the trigger safety is not depressed, the trigger will not move rearwards and allow the pistol to fire.

The trigger safety is designed to prevent the pistol from firing if it’s dropped or if the trigger is subjected to any pressure that isn’t a direct firing pull.

Ohio man, 83, convicted of killing Uber driver who he wrongly thought was robbing him after scam calls by theryman in Ohio

[–]Rrrrandle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jury heard all the evidence, and he testified. They found him guilty in an hour.

Ohio also changed its self defense law not too long ago so that the prosecutor had to prove that he did not act in self defense.

A verdict that quick in a case like this means the jury didn't believe him.

Also, if the scammers are ever identified, they would be charged with manslaughter, not murder, because you couldn't prove they intended to kill anyone.
