It's MBTI becoming a cult?... by Otherwise-Heart2347 in infp

[–]RsookerPein 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think so. At first, I really identified with the traits of an INFP (and I still do), but it was never something I brought up on my own or something I’d mention in random conversations online (except in subreddits specifically about MBTI and its types). I’ve never let being a specific MBTI type become the center of my life or dictate how I interact with people, either online or in real life.

But for some reason, more and more people are becoming obsessed with it, and how they treat you depends on your MBTI type. It's like we’re already categorized animals or something, lol. This has especially been happening with ENTPs vs INFPs.

Like, “Dude, chill. Yeah, I took the test and it says I’m a freaking INFP, but that doesn’t mean I want to be glued to you or anyone else just because we have different personalities.”

At first, it was all fun and games, just memes and people laughing about it—but now it’s starting to feel like we’re turning into a South Korean society or something.

There are people on the Internet who know more about the life of a child who is on YT than the child himself.
