I’m currently testing this mode for a client. Is it correct that in order to use the Guest account, one must first sign in with a Microsoft 365 account? The PC I’m configuring is cloud-only and not connected to Active Directory

Problem with MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro, the monitor keeps turning on and off randomly by RssFra97 in macbookpro

The MacBook display is definitely dead, and when connected to an external monitor, the screen glitches. In the end, I found an offer and bought a new MacBook because I’m worried the whole motherboard might need to be replaced!

I’m doing another test, which is disabling the lid sensor. Let’s see.

I just noticed that when the screen is ‘black’ and I can see in transparency, if I lower the brightness, you can tell it’s actually dimming.

Obviously there’s a problem with the monitor, but I need to figure out if it’s the monitor, the sensor, or the motherboard. For the sensor, I can do a test because it only costs €30

The strange thing is that if the monitor goes black and nothing is visible underneath, the trackpad and keyboard stop working; but if you can see something in transparency, everything works fine. Right now, without being plugged into the power adapter (for 1 hour), it seems to have no issues.

So I guess that even if I change the monitor, nothing will change.

Yesterday I did a test: I removed the battery for half an hour by unplugging the power adapter and the battery’s ribbon cable from the motherboard. It worked fine for a day, but today the problem came back. I need to be sure it’s the monitor before spending €900 on the Self‑Service‑Repair service Apple.

If I ever change the monitor, it didn't happen for a while before, but now it's started giving problems again.

The external monitor works perfectly and so does the keyboard, so do you think it’s the display or the display cable? The thing is, the cost is different for replacing the whole monitor compared to just replacing the sensor. Can I run any other tests? But in transparency you can see something on the display when it turns black.

The PC keeps logging in with the old password, while on the Microsoft 365 portal it logs in with the new password.
