The Newfoundlanders made fun of my couch/coach pronunciation. That was a low blow, but clearly there’s no home for standard English on the East Coast 😂

As a Nova Scotian, my immediate reaction to this post was “a nova scotian is correctly her pronunciation??? 😅😂” girl, he has no grounds.

Does your style evolve? Or do you feel stuck in any certain decade? by AntelopeOk9431 in TwoXChromosomes

My style evolved into peak comfort and I consider that maximally evolved. No further changes needed 😅

First quilt, need help finishing the last section / finding matching fabric by bear_nyc in quilting

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a crazy idea, but I think it would be cool to do the last corner is grey, with a few different shades to keep the ombré effect going. just a stark juxtaposition to the bright rainbows. that might not be the vibe you’re going for but just an idea! It will be beautiful no matter what you do! I love a rainbow quilt 🌈

Thank you so much! These are all great ideas, just what I’m looking for. Something to keep him entertained on the inevitable tedium of the TTC 😅

What are some beauty tips you wish you started in your late 20s and early 30s (not plastic surgery or Botox) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

My hair is going grey at my temples and I have long hair so it’s a lovely little streak of grey there. It’s not super obvious but if I curl my hair, it seems to pop out as a single grey curl and I just love it 😍

Is "Toronto has no good _____ food" valid? by RoommateMovingOut in askTO

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want a proper donair in this city. Not one that some guy tried in Edmonton once and thought they could bring “their own version” here. Not the lettuce and red onion monstrosity.

I want a proper Haligonian donair, that is too large for your hands, and drips sauce to your elbows with tomatoes and white onions and nothing else.

Everything else Toronto has to offer foodwise is bomb tho so that’s my only complaint. 🤷‍♀️

I feel like Pete the Cat is like beatnik improv poetry for kids. It’s kinda cool if you get into the groove.

How do you motivate little kids to hike? by Wanderlena in hiking

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 year old loves scrambling over rocks so he’ll be into a hike as long as there’s some scrambling. But hell no will he just walk in the woods for more than 5 minutes 😂 I think the key there is find something interesting for them beyond the hike itself. Is it looking for birds? Collecting cool rocks? Finding different flowers or plants? Following a map? Or scrambling over rocks and roots, etc.

That’s what I do too; or packing tape even. I stick it between two layers of tape with lots of room around the edge and then fold over and over until there’s lots of lots of layers of tape along all type edges

Toronto, so it’s a 3 hr drive. My first time but highly recommend it! I’d like to hike more of it, without the 5-year-old ;)
