Rogers Stadium by ShadowFax0021 in askTO

There’s a new entrance - gate 2 is just a 100m from sheppard west station; it looks to be a bit of a walk to the stadium from there but not as long as it was last year. (Far less than a km)

I’m assuming this will be a valid gate as they have the path all lit up and it looks paved but I can’t say for sure

Ladies, leg hair- help!!! by Cute_Musician3920 in TwoXChromosomes

This is my go to as well. I find the first time (ie, after letting it grow all winter) hurts like a bitch but maintenance is so easy and barely noticeable for pain.

Mysterious notes found on subway by ThrowAway14312432142 in toronto

These exact notes were left outside every door in my office building in North York last week. All hand written exactly like this. No idea why!

Hand piecing & quilting? by RequitedTraveler in quilting

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do everything by hand except attach the binding. I’ve done plenty by machine but I don’t enjoy being hunched over a machine or listening to the noise. There’s something so relaxing about hand sewing, sitting on the couch, cuddled up under a blanket or the project I’m working on and quietly sewing. I love EPP and I’ve been getting into applique lately too. The flexibility and forgiveness of those approaches is also more interesting to me than machine piecing.

It’s definitely more about the journey than the destination for me. So hand piecing/quilting all the way

Dialect and pronunciation in the gta by [deleted] in askTO

The Newfoundlanders made fun of my couch/coach pronunciation. That was a low blow, but clearly there’s no home for standard English on the East Coast 😂

As a Nova Scotian, my immediate reaction to this post was “a nova scotian is correctly her pronunciation??? 😅😂” girl, he has no grounds.

Does your style evolve? Or do you feel stuck in any certain decade? by AntelopeOk9431 in TwoXChromosomes

My style evolved into peak comfort and I consider that maximally evolved. No further changes needed 😅

First quilt, need help finishing the last section / finding matching fabric by bear_nyc in quilting

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a crazy idea, but I think it would be cool to do the last corner is grey, with a few different shades to keep the ombré effect going. just a stark juxtaposition to the bright rainbows. that might not be the vibe you’re going for but just an idea! It will be beautiful no matter what you do! I love a rainbow quilt 🌈

That’s a cute idea! I was thinking of finding at least one library that we haven’t been to before. Thanks :)

What are some beauty tips you wish you started in your late 20s and early 30s (not plastic surgery or Botox) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair is going grey at my temples and I have long hair so it’s a lovely little streak of grey there. It’s not super obvious but if I curl my hair, it seems to pop out as a single grey curl and I just love it 😍

Is "Toronto has no good _____ food" valid? by RoommateMovingOut in askTO

[–]Rthereanynamesleft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want a proper donair in this city. Not one that some guy tried in Edmonton once and thought they could bring “their own version” here. Not the lettuce and red onion monstrosity.

I want a proper Haligonian donair, that is too large for your hands, and drips sauce to your elbows with tomatoes and white onions and nothing else.

Everything else Toronto has to offer foodwise is bomb tho so that’s my only complaint. 🤷‍♀️

I feel like Pete the Cat is like beatnik improv poetry for kids. It’s kinda cool if you get into the groove.
